Good Monday morning!

Wt  220.6   YIKES  Calories 1125

Free T4 came back in the low but normal range.  Eating is on track.  Grazing down to a nibble.  I have biked 5 times during the past 7 days.  I got 7 miles yesterday.  I guess I have to go lower on my intake.  Been saying it but I have to do it.

Music scales are fine though.  Hope I don't drive my DW nuts.

128.6. Feeling better, thank God! Still no formal exercise for me - did get over 11,000 steps in yesterday. I should be getting a Garmin tracker in this week, trading in my FitBit after being a loyal customer since they first came out! We'll see if I like it better. I've always loved my FitBits but they just don't last long enough. I've had my current one since January or February and the face piece is chipped in 2 places. They just don't hold up for more than a year! My previous one the selection button broke off of it and DHs band has snapped and he has to carry his around in his pocket - he got his for Christmas last year which was a replacement for the same issue. I guess we are hard on our trackers!

Work today, parent meeting for Seniors tonight and packing/moving in between. Two weeks from tomorrow is the official move day!

Dave, good control with the grazing and nice activity! Doesn't seem right that your calories have to be so low to maintain a weight of 220! Some of our metabolisms just suck! Sounds like your docs have already looked into other causes - thyroid, testosterone etc.?

Testosterone is low but during the replacement therapy I developed A-fib.  Stopped therapy and was electro cardioverted.  I do take some meds that can cause weight gain but I have been on them a while.  Recent increase in meds.

Ready for the week, my fabulous friends?

123's, a few more carbs than needed yesterday.  That includes baking a plum torte which is the only non-holiday baking I have done since before VSG.  I still don't quite know how that happened --- flying baking?   I didn't eat much of it and I don't feel much of a call from it so I think I will call it a thin woman victory.  (In the book, thin women bake tortes and don't overeat.)   Still, I have zero plans to bake again anytime soon.

I was also off-point on my desire to not eat for at least 3 hours between meals/snacks.  I plan to get that back today.

Activity yesterday was terrific. The weather held for Sunday yoga outside at the slough.  Very peaceful with the water birds and water people around.  I had a nice walk/skip/run later in the day.

Dave, glad your musical scales are going well!  I wish your other scale would cooperate.

Paula, I am looking forward to your Garmin review.  In the last several years I have been devoted to Fitbit. I have never had one break but have lost a few.

Off to the races,

Shel

128 on the dot !!   The best part of being retired will be building my day around regular activity.  I dislike the challenge to find time to move during many work days.

Sounds like we all have our heads in the game !!   Go team !!!

Good morning people!

142.  I have the day off work today but that doesn't mean nothing to do!  Getting car inspected, meeting a friend for lunch and hitting the store.  Plus lots of chores around the house.  I got right on the elliptical and worked up a huge sweat.  Wanted to make sure I got exercise in, especially since I'm eating out at lunch.  It's rainy here today and I'm surprised how sad I am that I can't run today.

Dave, do you think the scale issue could just be the increase in activity?  You're killing it on the bike.  I'm planning to get a new bike after I survive the upcoming New England winter!  I can't wait!

Love to all!!

Heather :)

I don't think I am getting enough mileage in to cause weight gain. 5 miles only takes a little over 20 minutes to ride. I don't really get it. I should be taking in over 2000 cal to gain weight.  Not fair.

Sometimes the scale is a big jerk!  Hang in there, you know you are working hard and it WILL pay off!
