Long day at the office in Boston yesterday - Out of the house at 5 am, returning at 5:30 pm.  I'm working at home today and tomorrow.  Husband had a rough night, turning the light on at 3 to search for who knows what, then bolt upright at 4:30 to search the bed for something.  So I'm up early as usual!  My son goes to NYC today to do a "stage" at Jean-Georges.  First of several stages over the next 2 weeks.  Hopefully he will have a job soon.  Love him dearly but it is time for him to move out again...

Weight is 124.2 - I think it may be doing what it did last week creeping up until I have a big bathroom day because I've been good with my eating.

I hope you all have a great day!

Going to the city today for DW's dr appointment.  Seems like we spend a lot of time going to the dr.  Just follow up.  Will eat lunch out but we do pretty well most times.

I went to my psych doc last week and started new med to me.  Meds don't last very long with me.  Over sedation on the lowest dose.  So will try to divide dose and see. Helen Keller said "we all have our own hill difficulty to climb."  In our group we all have different struggles or struggles in our family.  Besides the eating. Mental health issues are just not fair.

Hope you have a fearless hopeful day.

Hey Dave,

So right about everyone having their own hill.

I am sure that you and your doc have already tried this sort of thing, but I will throw it out there anyway.  We sometimes have patients crush the lowest dose pill and mix with liquid and then drink just 1/4 or 1/2 of it.  Of COURSE, this isn't appropriate with every medication for a bazillion reasons!

For some people, even this micro-dose is too much.  But, for others, it has been a way to find a path to benefit, rather than just side effects. There is a presumption that the dose will have to be advanced slowly to get to a therapeutic dose.

Anyhoo, best of luck, that is a tough situation.

Thanks for your input.  I have always been super sensitive to many meds and completely ineffective with others. Many times a fraction of what most take is therapeutic. One of my pills is in capsule form so I just open it and divide.  Working on half dose now, may need to go lower.  Makes my pills go twice as far.  It is close. but without very accurate scales that will have to be good enough.  Effectiveness vs sedation is the real problem. I have a hard time being patient long enough to see if I will acclimate. DW and I are nurses and while we might not tell our patients to do that unless scored, we have done it for years.

Good morning, my resilient peeps!

124 OTD today! Ok steps yesterday.  Weird work day and didn't get to yoga.  Today will be another weird schedule so I will have to try to home yoga which I stink at.  I do best with a live instructor bossing me around and peer pressure to keep me going for an hour.

Peace and hope,

Shel

Morning all.

Liz:  all the best.  Not easy at all with an ailing loved one.   Dave you and I are travelling for the same reason.  It is, as have mentioned, a 6 hour journey both ways. So it means an overnight and restaurant

food.  It is interesting.  Two days of travel for a likely 10 minute Dr. visit.    Such is life.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone.   Was thinking of Frisco's 'mantra'.  At least it was something like the following:   ' how little food he could get away with and how good nutrition( quality )  was more important than quantity'.  ( come to think of it I think I have two people's thoughts combined)

So today quality will hopefully supercede  quantity.

141.9 today, so YAY!  I weighed 147.8 when I got home from my cruise, so am well on my way to getting the excess weight off.

Today is my shoulder surgery day, so will likely not be posting for a couple of days.  Nerves are kicking in, and I figured getting on here and posting would calm them somewhat. So far it isn't working.

Good luck with doctor's appointment today my friends.  I hope all is well with all of you and your loved ones.

126.4. Loss I saw yesterday wasn't real, didn't think so!

Off today, already had a haircut and dentist appt. Now I have to get packing for camping weekend. It is going to be a chilly one for tent camping - lows of 34 and highs of 64.

Greetings Perservering Peeps

Well still at 132.5 in spite of all of yesterday's bathroom chat. I've just got to get more active - no two ways about it. Puppy needs walks and our house looks like a land fill. People will be  over for Halloween party and I am thinking about turning all the lights off and having a haunted house theme so no one sees the junk.

Have hired a consultant to fix our gallery computer so have to go spend the day dealing with that.

Yesterday Chip got out the front door and he got pretty far before we could catch him. Had to take the car to get him. Scared me to death as he got onto a sort of busy street.  Then took the puppy to the vet for heart worm test which is always a circus.

Well here's to hoping we all have a cheerful and peaceful day.   Diane S
