good early morning everyone.    So very pleased that the baby did what babies should do!  Well done!

going to be another sleepless night but it is my own fault.   Had a lovely lovely 1 hours walk, got chilled to the bone, got home into bed with a ho****er bottle and all my clothes on including the outer ones and slept for three solid hours.

Woke to delicious smells from the kitchen.

Shel, what I remember about the daffs is that it was one woman's dream project and that a sign said something like:  " one bulb at a time.   Strong back, weak mind"

Purple tulips.....how wonderful.   Spring is on its way!!!!!!!!!!

Carbon... hope you've warmed up ! I do miss having a hot tub, in instances like this ! Devon, you knew that sweet pup was strong, and that she is !! Now, if all our human family members can draw some strength and energy from this happy ending , everyone can be on the upswing !!

Down another .2 ... I'll take it !  Had a three mile walk yesterday... not the 8-10 I averaged last week, but a respectable walk.

The district has hired a principal to replace the principal who will take my position. He starts by April 1st, and my replacement will have significant surgery in March. My district has applied for a waiver to allow me to retain my pension while working beyond the maximum allowance. If that is approved, I'll continue to work 25-30 hours a week, to ease them through the transition. I am doing a better job of not bringing work home and focusing on self care. Liz, things do work out as they are supposed to. I could never have retired "cold turkey". You'll find the right balance.

Thanks for the encouragement- I've been mulling over options like working 3.5 days full-time or part-time 2-3 days a week for the remainder of the year. I'm pretty sure at least part-time would be an option.

Still very spring'ish here, but I didn't get much work done outside yesterday.  Hubby couldn't get the new Gator battery hooked up (he was so frustrated), so the John Deere dude came out and put it in.  He didn't charge us anything and wouldn't even take $20 - such a nice guy.

Today's another day, so I'll be out there.  It will eventually be beautiful, but is brutally foggy now.  I'll be creeping into town for yoga and grocery shopping.

So much good news posted by the group lately - doggie bebe's progress, Ocean's opportunity to make some more travel money, retirement planning, lovely walks and other good exercise victories, tulips and daffodils - a good season.  :)

Good morning!

124's yesterday, some home yoga.  Ok incidental steps.

We had a county mandated "vent test" yesterday that was related to buying a new furnace/air conditioner.  We passed!  A relief since everything related to heat in our house is pooping out after 25 years of service.  We also finally decided on a gas fireplace to replace the one that blew out.  It will be a process to redo the whole thing but DH ripped off the tile last night so now it is just a matter of time.  Maybe lots of time but at least we are moving forward.

I feel like Devon's little pup is part of our tribe with her debilitating constipation (I've been there, sistah!) and daily weighings.  And she's no quitter.

Long work day expected and then a meeting at the school about the running start program for DD.  That's the program where kiddo's take classes at the community college (on your dime, thank you!) the last couple of years of HS.

Speaking of running, I better get going.

Oh, Carbon----thanks for the tip about mountain tulips.  I'll start "googling" my older patients to see if I can discover it.

Love all your thoughts and stories!

Shel

137.2, up almost a pound and eating was good yesterday. Had sweet cravings in the evening but didn't give in to them, was disappointed with the gain but probably something a trip to the bathroom will fix.

Day off today. Not sure what is on the docket. Calves still sore from step aerobics on Tuesday but will maybe do boot camp or yoga today.

It does sound like most are in a good place right now. Prayers that it will continue!

In Boston so this is a quickie:  115.5 (stayed away from almonds yesterday).

Devon, I am SO HAPPY to hear that "our" pup is okay! I do feel that link as I had that same problem a few days after PS. I was worrying about her all night and didn't want to tell DS until we heard what the situation was because I had shown him her pictures and he had fallen in love too!

Went to the pharmacy to weigh.  Wt: 226.5 dressed (of course) and in the afternoon but needed to know ballpark where I was.  Calories 1330.

Devon, glad to know the pup is doing good.

Glad for all of you planning retirement.  I 'retired' because of a nervous breakdown.  I don't recommend doing it that way. I am better now and plan some non time sensitive cabinet jobs in the future.

Kind of had a scare with our boxer dog, Marble, yesterday.  He is almost blind and we keep moving stuff around.  He gets spooked easy now.  I don't know if he jumped and knocked himself out or had a seizure or what. I had to pick him up to put him on his bed.  Then he didn't want to lay down. When he did lay down he just stayed there.  Took real encouragement to get him up again.  Didn't know if he was going to make it the night but he did and he is back to his baseline almost.

Steps are installing phone signal boosters.  One for the shop in the woods and one for the airstream.  Replacement of shower faucet.  Maybe an entry ramp for the airstream for the dogs.

more later, David

David, sounds very much like the after effects of the seizures my old Cairn girl had. She never completely passed out afterwards, but she would become agitated and then utterly exhausted. If it was indeed a seizure, be aware that in old dogs they intensify over time.

Thanks.  I will be more aware.  He has been extremely anxious  lately.  He has been aggressive to other dogs in the past.  Yesterday was a total personality change.  Less anxious.  Almost a lost look in his eye.  He is still not 100%. But much better than yesterday.
