Good Morning All !

So much going on !! Weight has stabilized mid-range, and sun is due to make an appearance again today. I hope to get lots of top soil and seed down ! Have completed tons of paperwork to get Sadie officially registered as a therapy dog. The local VA also requires extensive paperwork before we can volunteer, which is a good thing. Tomorrow, I have a Reiki Master recalibration/attunement. Looking forward to it.

Paula... enjoy your well deserved retreat. I'm sure Ben will be fine. Continued prayers and positive thoughts. Dave... if anyone can figure out the tractor, you can! Sheep would be fun too ! Ann... great job stabilizing your weight after your trip... positive thoughts and energy for DH's scan today. Liz, it sounds like you are staying in front of DH's progression. The support groups sound like a great direction. BB..glad some weight released, to confirm that focusing on food to fuel what you want your body to do is a good filter. It is so hard to shift from sole focus on weight on the scale, to strength and stamina. Devon, glad you are finding some peace and positivity. You sure have busy weekends ! Hope testing (kidos) is over for a bit !

Stay the course, friends !!

Good morning everyone.

Wow! Everyone is sooooo busy with many of us dealing with huge family responsibilities. My hat is off to you all.

walked for a total of 3 hours and food was not the greatest.

We have had sun for two days and I actually heard someone complaining about it. Too bright.

Hi Guys!

There is a lot got going on! My heart goes out to all of you dealing with the issues of loved ones.

For me, I am still dealing with being very short staffed at work last week and it will take the weekend to get cleaned up. I am done being crabby about it and have moved on to plotting how my clinic can avoid such a mismatch in manpower and workload in the coming months. My local bosses will be supportive but downtown bosses will be suspicious at best and downright po'd at worst so I will have to be at my professional best. No crabbiness allowed. The root of the problem is uncertainty in healthcare at the national level....our hiring is virtually frozen. Does anyone see that uncertainty going away? I didn't think so.

Enough of that. I'm going to log in to work but be log-off in time for yoga. Hope to plant in the garden, too, no matter the weather.

To borrow from DianeO.....strength and stamina to all!

Shel

No weight. Getting a good deal of crafting done. Eats only so so. I did get a great walk in yesterday and plan to do the same today.

Have a great Saturday friends!

We've had 4 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. Ponds are full to the brim, leaves have doubled in size in the last few days, woods are thicker, and the vegetative greens are even brighter. This is the "Irish" time of year. Our weather the next three days will be warm and sunny, so spring should go NUTS!

It's still raining, so I blew off the hospital 5K. Hubby went in early for his PT scan only to learn it has to be rescheduled because insurance has not approved it yet (understandable, since it only got scheduled in a bit of a rush a few days ago, but he'd have preferred to learn that before skipping coffee and breakfast). Hopefully, it'll all come together next week. The good news is that he's feeling fine with no symptoms of any changes.

This morning I'll do yoga at home and this afternoon attend a funeral for a friend's grandmother.

In the midst of our challenges, let us find our joys. They are there.

Ann, Frustrating for your husband but glad he is feeling well. We had a long road trip getting DH's MRI, so that would have really stunk if it was cancelled!

Ocean and I were both early birds this morning - here is my posting (copied here) - we just got back from the gym and are going to the Kennedy museum in Hyannis today:

Weight 118 (pre-poop), calories 716. Still hoping part of this will be solved by a good bathroom trip. We spent 5 hours driving to and from the hospital to get an updated brain MRI for DH, so not a lot of time to relax yesterday.

Today is supposed to be somewhat better weather wise, but there is still a chance of showers. Need to find something engaging to do with DH (after we go to the gym). The Lexapro seems to be cheering him up (either that or the lack of angst over MIL finances OR me being around more).

Speaking of MIL, now I need to help deal with that. She is 97 in very advanced dementia and is refusing to eat. She can't really talk now and is having difficulty swallowing. Her youngest son is one of her caretakers and keeps thinking he can "fix" her. I think it is time to ask her doctor if we should contact hospice. Having access to palliative care specialists might help her, but also help her son better understand what is happening. MIL was a nurse. She lived with us for a few months when her mother was dying and taught me a lot about how to let people make their own decision and die with dignity. It was what made me be able to be with eldest DH and my own mother when they were dying and let them know that it was okay for them to let go. I think MIL is hanging on for her youngest right now.

But for today, I'm going to try to find something fun for DH - museum maybe?

Have a good Saturday!

Being on the west coast I never get accused of being an early bird around here! LOL! Today I am not an early bird at all. I planned to sleep until 8:00 am and I did - sort of. Let's just say I dozed from 6:30 on. Puppy duty called and once I'm up it's hard to go back to a full, deep sleep, but I did doze and that's almost even more lovely!

Weight up.5 today. Weight has been stable this week. This is good while I get my head together.

Work out was very intense yesterday. I am surprised I am already as sore as I am! The trainer had me do a new type of push up called "Perfect push up". One uses handles on round swivel bases (perfect pushup handles). He had me drop down on a count of 3, hold for 2, and push up on a count of 1. I did 3 sets of these reaching failure twice for each set. The most I could do was 12 the first set (one set of 8 and then a set of 4). The second set I could only manage two sets of 5 and the third set was one set 5 and a set of 3. I can only imagine how sore I will be come tonight and tomorrow! Trainer said that when he does these he is often sore for a full 5 days to a week. Great....

I just noticed Diane S.'s ceramic Airedale on my buffet. I need to take a pic and post it for you all. It really is such a playful piece. The piece captures the whimsical side of the Airedale personality so well.

I am waiting for the psych to answer me about the Vyvanse. I spoke via PM to Gwen (From the main VSG board) regarding her experience with it. Kdolphin has also contacted me about it, as I mentioned before. If it can do for me what it has done for those ladies I will be so grateful!

Prior to VSG I believe my BED was on the more severe side. Today, at least, it seems to be in the moderate range. It would have been so helpful to have known about the BED when I had my VSG. I might have not had quite the regain I've had, but such is life. No regrets, really. It is what it is and I'm happy to be so aware now. In the long run that will only help. Such an interesting journey this!

Happy weekend to all. Must get ready to groom some doggies!

Just looked at those perfect pushup handles. Because I do a lot of planks in yoga (and really did a lot today!) I am having visions of incorporating those into planks and some other poses that go along with planks. Maybe this is crazy?! In any event, your perfect pushup sets sound awesome! Maybe I could get some of my old pre-op tits back if I did some. ;)
