Okay noodle people... check out "Better Noodle" on Amazon. I can't see any differences between Healthy Noodle and Better Noodle. Packaging is almost exactly the same ! Experts... what do you think ?

Sadie and I will get a walk in early, before the heat and humidity take hold. The garden is thriving, and so are the weeds and grass. I'll get started on the mowing cycle again tomorrow... preparing for a week out with SO, after he closes on his house Thursday. I'd love to find someone "word of mouth" to rent my house as we explore moving forward with our relationship.

We practiced Reiki attunements yesterday, and I'm feeling mighty centered today. Off to seize the day, and make the most of that !!

I hope you find someone to rent! I'll try the Better Noodle once I get home and report back.

Weight 115.5, calories 1007. Wasn't really hungry yesterday and felt a little off from previous days indulgences, so down 1/2 pound. I think keeping to my usual daily weighing here will be good for me (but I have to remember not to drink anything before I go - getting dressed first changes my at-home routine).

I have to consciously drink even more than usual here. I forget that my normal intake is a lot more than it used to be and that I need even more with the sun and heat here.

142.2. Up.

Work today. A little stiff from this weekend's activities but it will be fine once I am out and about.

I 've had those shiritaki noodles in the past and didn't care for them. Are the better noodles/healthy noodles like those? I don't miss pasta too much anyway.

Not much else to report since I was very late to the game yesterday!

I'm feeling terrible again. I relate it to brushing my lab--I guess the allergies have inflamed everything. I'm having stuffiness/sinus pressure/sore throat/

Idk if my immune system has been low this past month with all the travel and working out?

Good news is weight is 152.4. Lowest recent! I feel like I've been naturally full recently--I guess because all this congestion.

Does anyone smoke (meat)? I really want to buy one because trying to use smoker boxes on a gas grill isn't cutting it. I want something somewhat easy to use (so that I can smoke overnight but not be up the entire time). But I don't think I want an electric smoker. I want a "real" smoker. I've heard about pellet smokers--but I want to be able to use readily available wood chips and charcoal. So that leads me likely to a kamado. My friends all love the big green egg. But go****'s $$$$!! We would probably want an XL, and to get the stuff like legs etc. its over $1500! We found a grill called vision grills kamado at Sam's and I think that's what we'll go for.

Happy Monday!

I was born to research noodles. It appears that the common ingredient in all of these noodles (including shirataki) is the Konjac root. I never tried shirataki noodles because I had heard about a weird smell. Even the potential of a weird smell is a deal breaker for me so if I had seen shirataki on the package I would have never bought Healthy Noodles.

So, I think the "better than noodles" (they also have "better than rice" and I think "better than spaghetti") on amazon is pretty similar to the healthy noodles at costco.

Healthy Noodles has no weird smell at all. I can't say that it has any taste....though I didn't try them plain.

Like Paula, I don't crave regular pasta and I truly like spaghetti squash. But, I miss pad thai (for example) that really isn't the same without bland noodles. And spaghetti squash isn't ready on a whim.

DianeO, would you miss your home pool terribly if you moved?

BB, we have always had a Komado pot. Our smaller one cracked after a million years so now we have my FIL's hand me down (also a million years old) which is a size bigger. I don't know why, but FIL's is "smokier" than our previous. DH likes this quality but DD and I don't. I'm not sure I can give you meaningful info, DH is in charge of grill and the Komado. I feel like DH may have changed the wood or something but he says not.

I have today off, a very rare Monday occurrence. I am having trouble deciding on what to do and fear that I might fritter the day away. Must stay away from frittering (including the apple fritters that the Costco sample ladies have been pushing)

May we all find what we need today,

Shel

Great weekend of dog shows. Both Ace and Livvy kicked some dog ass on Saturday. I chose not to show Ace yesterday. If he had won yesterday he would have earned is AKC championship and that is not in my plan! LOL! I want to show him in So Cal in two weeks at the Great Western Terriers Association shows. If he's already a champion he can't compete in the junior classes and that's where he needs to be at 14 months old. He is far too young to compete with the big boys! Besides, it would be a nice way to finish his championship at a nationally recognized Terrier show.

Weight/eating was great this weekend. I had no real appetite during the day. Saturday was pretty much a fast day until dinner and yesterday I ate a small lunch around 4. Dinner was also small so I'm not sure why I'm up 2 pounds from yesterday. I'm sure it's water because my fingers are stiff. We shall see.

Today is the first official "I Don't Have to go to Work Today Day"! The electricians are here doing some circuit dedication for my grooming shed, which will be very nice come the hot weather.

Have to write my "list" today at some point, but for right now I'm enjoying leisurely computer time and coffee. Ahhh.......

Noodles: Shiritaki Noodles ..... the smell was just too much to get past (and people I feed my dogs green tripe, which smells like cow ****) Just going to tell it like it is: If I want some pasta/Pad Thai, I'm going to eat the real deal. I can only eat 1/4-1/2 a cup anyhow. It's not going to do that much damage as a one time thing. Pasta is not a trigger for me either - not enough sugar. Pasta has very little allure since VSG for me, but sometimes you just gotta have the real thing.

Hmmm - I don't like the idea of a weird smell. I think I will stick to my cauliflower rice or zoodles when I want something with sauce.
