Weight 115, calories 875. My last workday is in exactly 5 weeks. I've started to think about saving the contents of my laptop on a server somewhere just in case I do end up consulting and someone lets my laptop get dumped prior to that.

Yesterday was a relatively quiet day, though we did go to the container store to get some things to organize jewelry, makeup, toiletries and recycled plastic grocery bags. Cool place!

Have a munificent Monday!

Sitting on the plane waiting to taxi back from the gate.

Diane S. , watched Ardith judge girls. Her WB was nice, but BIG!!!! Made me wonder if they grow them bigger in the U.K.

Anyway, nice to be on the way home - even if it means going back to reality and dealing with my two extra pups.

Hope to check in with regularity now that life is back to normal, more or less.

I still get a kick out of my airline seatbelt after all these years!

Glad life is settling back in to normalcy. I have not been on a plane since WLS.

Devon, good to hear your voice here and to see your babes here and on FB. I'm glad life is starting to settle down for you. And yes, that seatbelt thing NEVER fails to thrill!

Me too! I want to show the extra tail to my seatmates. But I resist and play it cool because they wouldn't understand like our forum tribe.

Good Morning,

Wt 229. Up a couple but I have been eating salt on everything except the shakes. Still way too high. I feel good below 200 so After I adjust to the no N&Y I change to a reducing focus. I have started craving but I think it is because the lazy side of me does not want to think about what to cook and I have an aversion to meat that started shortly after WLS. I did eat a burger last night that I enjoyed. Green shake for breakfast and lunch. Not as bad as it sounds.

Heard some cows in the bottom land. Checked it out. 15 head jumped the fence. Now It has electric wire. Father of my DIL that recently passed was not much about keeping his fencing in good repair. They may dose it and start all over. I like to fence as long as my back holds out.

King bed complete and all beds labeled and disassembled for finish. I have some adjustable shelving to do before I finish.

Have a great beginning to your week.

More later, David

I grew up in the cattle farmer's house. If the phone rings in the middle of the night I still think "cows are out."

Glad to see Santa's workshop is so productive! Good luck with the finish. My husband equally loves and hates that part of woodworking.

Friends of ours have land that abuts the farm owned by the husband's sister. They are forever worrying that they will find a cow in the pool (likely having ripped the liner to shreds trying to get out).

Yesterday's V/Fs were carrots, butter lettuce, potatoes, green beans, carrots (again), strawberries and blueberries. Want to get back back to 8 daily V/Fs this week.

I got a little mowing done yesterday. I'm getting very lazy in the mowing department, but have to keep going, especially when the leaves start falling in earnest.

It's incredibly foggy here this morning. The dew was so thick last night that the deck feels like we had rain instead.

Doing good here. Headed to aquarobics this morning. A good friend has promised to join the aquarobics class this morning. It'll be fun to see each other more than we've been able to do for some time.

That's all the news that's fit to print. :)

P.S. Once again, Devon, it's good to hear from you. Carbon, are you out there listening? :)

Hello,

Quickish post to circle back to the mentoring advise. I appreciate it all and there is still lots there to chew on. More to come on that. She starts tomorrow.

Unexpected hike yesterday with neighbor. The weather cleared enough to go so we went way north to "see the colors" except the colors ended up being white. One can't say that snow is unexpected up on a mountain when there has been known precipitation but in this age of everyone sharing everything on-line it was unexpected because there were zero reports since there is no cell service around for miles. We met up with the poor boys that camped overnight....not a happy group. They were prepared for sub-zero temps but not the volume of snow. As we traveled up thru our hike, it was apparent they had to trail find on dicey, sometimes scary terrain. Terrifying.

Linda and I would have been in the first few to go up the mountain that morning. Thanks to those boy's efforts in breaking trail, we were able to complete most of our hike. They didn't go up to the uppermost knolls so no trail up to that and we didn't try. (On the way back, we saw someone had found the trail, probably someone who had been there before.)

We were both in Xcountry ski clothing and still absolutely soaked with sweat. I wish I had microspikes....will buy some soon. (Love REI.) On the way down, the temps warmed and the last two miles of forest rained snow, some of it in gigantic heavy snow bombs. We clocked in 9 miles. The hike was beautiful! SO MANY HAPPY DOGS IN THE SNOW!

I took a mini-mo jet boil and we had fresh coffee on the top of the ridge! (Made with starbucks via blond roast) We even had cream because I think nothing about carrying cream! Good fun.

Mt Baker and its buddies below. Brooding clouds floated around. I was glad to get out of there.

Hug your skinny! Expect the unexpected.

Shel
