Weight up (again) Arrrgghhhh! Boooo!

Been super busy as of late so have not been a regular poster. That and also not wanting to share my lack of success I guess. I know you all support me no matter what the scale says, it is just admitting that I'm not doing so well that is the hard part.

Camping weekend with the scouts. Supposed to be rainy and cold. Happy, happy, joy, joy! I'm much more of a fair weather camper. Even seeing Shel's pics of hiking in the snow didn't get me excited. Still dreaming of my coastal hikes on Maui. That is more my style!

Devon, glad you are back in the folds of the group. Sorry the fires are making your air quality so bad.

Ann, interesting about the fruits and veggies and weight loss. I certainly could add more veggies to my day!

David, you are doing so well with your N&Y avoidance. Glad to be FB friends now!

BB, try not to stress too much about baby weight. Your #1 job right now is to grow a healthy little girl. You can deal with any weight gain after!

Diane O - loved the beach pics. Wish I was at a beach!

Love to all!

You beat me though! I just copied this from the post I was writing while you posted this!

Weight 116, calories 1065. We went out for $5 burger night at a local golf course club last night. It's how they bring people in during the winter. They are good burgers and even though you have to pay for toppings and sides, I get out for $7 for my burger (2 meals) and $10 for DH (one meal including a side). We went more Thursday's than not last year. We will miss it in Florida, so I guess we will have to find "early-bird" specials. Though they do have $1 burgers at the pool on Wednesdays for lunch!

The countdown to retirement is feeling super real as the retirement papers arrive and I spend more time transitioning knowledge than handling active work. I am arriving at an offer to consult on my terms (2-3 hours a week remotely at my convenience at my rate until one or the other of us doesn't see a need to continue). It would give me some extra funds for a while and maybe make the transition easier? We will see...

Have a fruitful Friday (whatever that means for you, though we know what it is for Ann)!

Yesterday's 6 V/Fs came from an apple, bamboo shoots, carrots, kale/spinach/chard, sweet potatoes, blueberries and mango. Lots of calories and lowest weight yet.

But I buried the lede.

Hubby's PET CT scan showed that his lymphoma is back, with several masses throughout his torso. But we don't know what kind(s) of lymphoma he has without more testing. It could be the smaller-cell lymphoma that appeared on his chest (and is the less worrisome kind), or the non-Hodgkins mantle cell lymphoma he was originally diagnosed with. Or both kinds. Or (theoretically) a combination of both and a third or even more. Unfortunately, we can't know what kind(s) he has without more testing. And without better analysis, his oncologist doesn't know what kind of treatment(s) to give him.

So it looks like we'll be going to Houston to MD Anderson for additional testing. At least that's the next step -- to send hubby's scans, reports, and other records to MDA to analyze his situation and hopefully schedule a trip there. We have a couple of other options for the additional screening, but his oncologist would prefer that he goes to MDA. I'm really dreading that, since at MDA there's a lot of time spent sitting around waiting. The good news is we have relatives down there, including a niece who works at MDA.

Yesterday morning, upon receiving all this news, we were knocked off our pins pretty hard. But by mid-afternoon's coffee, fika and crosswords we had begun to get our breath back. Having dealt with hubby's cancer, chemo, and radiation twice before, we know (like many of you from personal experience!) that we must deal with all this one day at a time and do that day what must be done that day.

Much like WLS, weight loss, and maintenance, eh?

And since it's not a time to indulge in rumination, but to be present in each moment, today's theme is: One thing at a time.

Shoot! Tell DH I said hello and am thinking of him. So much so that my own DH came downstairs and was talking to me and I didn't see or hear him. I'm thinking of you, too. At least your core will be ready by the time you go to MDA :) How has core month been going at yoga?

Yes, one thing at a time.

Good luck getting that all set up and getting there Ann. Yes, "One thing at a time".

Sorry to hear about the PET CT results. Oncology wasn't my area. Testing to find the right treatment is needed and sounds like you have a great place to get it. One thing at a time is a good theme.

I am so sorry for your news, Ann. Hugs and prayers and wishing you deep breaths and the presence of mind to take it one thing at a time.

Hi Paula! (and the rest of you, too)

Full sympathy for you with that dreadful weekend looming. (I am full of positivity.) I don't like to be cold and didn't enjoy cold toes last weekend, either. It was a an adventure, tho, so there was that. You are probably on some sort of count down to The Last Cold Camp with those boys growing up fast.

I'm going with you and Ben on your coastal hike. Plan on it. I'll bring the pineapple.

Breathe in your smoke free air, everyone. (Except Devon. Don't breathe, Devon)

Shel

I can't say I miss cold rainy games watching the kids (DH did the cold rainy scout camping). The campfires are usually great on those days (if not pouring too much to have one)!

Wt 230 not the highest since WLS but almost. Paula I know what you mean about not wanting to post it but it is part of maintenance for me. We have been going back to the home town more than once a week. Travel 3 times this week and 2 times next week. I did get all of the yard mowed and brought my little tractor back to the shop in the woods. We have been having trouble with the water heater in the "Trailer that must not be finished" So I uninstalled it and took it to the RV shop. It was an $800 tankless ho****er heater. If they can't fix it I might go all electric. I have stained the King bed and now ready to over spray stain to make it darker and more uniform. Then I can finish spray it maybe tomorrow. Waiting on the color for the other beds. So glad to not be traveling today.
