Slept great last night! :)

It's still cold and dry here -- 13 degrees Fahrenheit this morning. Brrr!

My 8 V/Fs yesterday came from a small Honeycrisp apple, sweet red/yellow/orange mini-peppers, mushrooms, romaine lettuce, kale/spinach/chard, plantains, black beans, onions, fresh mango and frozen blueberries.

Cecily, I'm thinking of you, your hiking areas and the fire situation near San Diego. Sure hope they don't affect you or your home. California is being hit very hard this year. I'm so sorry for the losses there. And I love that beautiful state very much, having lived there for 20 years.

Today's theme via the Buddha: The mind is everything. What you think you become.

Weight 117.6, calories 932. So, though calories were better, my weight is up one pound from the previous days of indiscretion. I ate this wonderful low cal dinner last night at a restaurant called Bahama Breeze. It was a crab and shrimp "stack" which had avocado and mango in the inside of the stack. Only 330 calories for 32 gm of protein.

DS is in a depression over the loss of Duchess. When he is at home after work it is quiet, he is alone and it is dark. Tough place to be. It is a good thing we are going home for a few weeks on Monday.

BB, I was just reading your post from yesterday. You are going to be around 7 months pregnant at the end of the year. I think it is perfectly reasonable to not go - just explain that the travel would be too much at this point (if DH is okay with that). You should be home nesting and resting. A lot of baby growth is going to be going on then. IMHO.

I just did a look back on my previous weights. Though I felt I was in maintenance in late September 2016 (hit my 125 goal), I didn't get into the weight range I've been maintaining in until early December. I first hit the weight I am at today on 12/10/2016 (almost exactly one year ago). I joined this group on 10/10/2016. What a great move that was!

Have a fruitful Friday!

What a year of milestones!

And I love the crab/shrimp/avocado/mango stack! Sounds easy for a home dinner?

I am now laser focused on Liz's crab stack thing. I don't think I'll go to the bother of molding, but something like this looks good: crab stack recipe. And, it is from the Norsdstrom's bistro people who I trust like I trust Amazon.

You know how I know it is going to be a good day? My URL link is appearing like I intended. A rarity.

I have next week off and the next several hours of work can't be over fast enough. My pharmacist work buddy is still struggling with health. She continues to try to work, and honestly, her 50% is far more effective than the rest of us mortal's 100%. FWIW, it is impossible to keep her away from work so she isn't being abused. She wants to be at work -- that is part of the problem in my opinion.

I hope her health woes are just that....individual woes related to years of neglected health issues that are now being addressed, one by one. However, as she marches thru the various specialties, tests and scans, it begins to feel like her docs are worried that something is being missed. (Now who is borrowing trouble?)

Also, DD's exercise induced asthma flared related to URI and needed an office appointment yesterday to improve management. I left work early to take her to appointment and then worked remotely from home in the evening. The need for acute appt annoys DH to no end. "This should have been planned for." Can he not just accept my observation that the vast majority of asthma appts are for flares? (My "accept my authority" is also not well received but that is my problem, I do know that.)

Just had a spoonful of peanut butter and now I feel sick. My world is tilted if peanut butter fails to soothe.

BB, late term pregnancy is a legit reason to beg off travel during the holidays, if you decide that is what you want to do. It is hard to overstate how uncomfortable travel while pregnant can be. Especially optional holiday travel. Go with your intuition.

Peace and hope,

Shel

This recipe is pretty close to what I had (though mine had shrimp too - I would guess 4-5 oz of shrimp and crab together):

Weight: 179.2 Boohoo. May be time to hide the scale. Fingers crossed it's just a bounce in weight gain and I'm one of those who gains more in the 2nd trimester and not much in the 3rd. But regardless, it is what it is. and I sat myself down yesterday and had a little talk. I am pregnant. I have gained this much weight. And I only have 13 weeks left and want to enjoy it. I'm going to try not to let 10lbs. break the bank.

Thanks for your input on travel. I think it would be totally acceptable excuse to them for me not to go, but DH would know it was an excuse since I had been up to going, and then found out we'd be traveling during the game and then didn't want to go haha. But he's pretty exhausted too. We'll have to get it figured out this weekend. I really want to do it all. Time, money, and just things like needing to sleep limits that :( I'd prefer to meet them in Miami, and one option would be to take a short weekend trip down there say MLK weekend--that would probably be the outer limit of travel for me, though my Ob says as long as things don't change, I should be okay to travel up to 36 weeks (or right around Valentine's Day).

I passed my glucose test! It wasn't as bad as I thought! Didn't make me sick like I'd feared...which makes me wonder just how much more sugary Starbucks drinks are!!!! My glucose was at 82 and the cutoff is 140, so I'd say I passed with flying colors.

I had no control over my emotions this morning. TOWANDA MOMENT. Was in a hurry for breakfast with my grandma, so decided to pick up Mickey D breakfast burrito instead of making something. Line was long. Guy cut in line in front of me and like 4 cars behind me. For a split second I considered running my car up his butt. What a jerk. I actually rolled down the window and gave him a piece of my mind. I fantasize about doing this, but I never actually do...until today. Yikes!

LOL! I am the original "Let me share with you how you're doin' it wrong!" lecturer. I can readily persuade myself I'm Doing My Civic Duty when I'm explaining to strangers how they're incorrectly driving, parking, biking, moving in aisles, etc. Apparently, I am compelled to Do My Civic Duty only when issues of human locomotion are involved.

I think it's due to living for 20 years in Los Angeles where everyone is expected to know how to do The Freeway Dance. Imagine what I'd be like if I'd lived in NYC for 20 years!

;)

Weight 165.2, calories, have to imagine thousands.

Thank you, Ann! Knock on wood, the fires are staying away from Orange County and my Dad's house in Riverside County so far. But all those poor horses... Horrifying to think about.

The Christmas party was really fun yesterday, but boy I ate way too much, mostly the desserts. The scale showed it today. Getting back on track today.

No much going on today. I think maybe a movie with my friends, picking up around my house, walking the dog, etc.

Hope you all have a great day!
