Weight 117.2, calories 1571. Are we really halfway through July already?

The issue with DH is resolved for now, but he was asking to be driven to our hometown (I'm not sure what he had in mind at that point). He lost his phone and thought I stole it. Much looking around did not discover it but hopefully it will turn up (goes to voicemail immediately upon calling it). DS got embroiled and was upset. I wish that didn't happen.

Anyway, DH and I ultimately took a long healing walk along the ocean with Justice in the afternoon, so all is good now. Today we go to a friends for a cookout. Hopefully it won't rain (it is pretty cloudy right now).

Have a super Sunday!

Good morning all

A loved one with diminished capacity is very very hard. Showing kindness to your self is important.

Another lovely day with huge loads of laundry in my future. Everyone is going to the lake but two of us have elected to stay home, get chores done and just chill. They will be exhausted which is probably a very good thing.

Hope baby A is feeling better. Am sure that we would all think it would be better that WE would be the ill ones rather than our child or grandchild.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Pictures from yesterday's walk (a beach rose decorated Justice is resting in the shade under the memorial bench for DD on the harbor):

Supah Sunday to you All!

Liz, I'm glad the walk on the ocean mended things with you and DH, at least for a while. Beautiful place! The setting plus Justice are powerful medicine.

My hike yesterday was gorgeous, even the switch backs had intermittent views and the top ridge line featured 360 views of mtns all around plus some sort of water thing....hood canal maybe? Maybe the Sound. Many glaciated mountains in the distance. Plus, as you saw in yesterday's post, it featured my new friend, the goat.

DianeS, I did feel singled out by the goat; but maybe he makes all the girls feel special. No worries about him mugging me for my protein drink. Only a small amount of that pile of food goes on the actual hike. The rest is car food, starting with breakfast since I left the house before 5am. The protein drink still survives. Blech.

I want to work out later, but will try to use it as a treat to get me to power thru presentation development.

Have a great day all.

Shel

Okay... My name is Diane and I am addicted to Ahi Poke bowls, seaweed and all. My daughters, who eat Skittles with chopsticks for fun, got me going using chopsticks, which do influence my pace.

Liz... is it time to build in some daycare for DH ? Can you habituate him to that routine before you HAVE to ? Have you thought out a safety plan, way before you need it ? It sounds like he hasn't been physically aggressive to this point, but the potential is there. (Sitting down with local PD and making them aware of diagnosis..)

Hot and humid again here today. We have river rocks all around our house, and I want to get some break through weeding done. Dogs are calling...have to run... positive thoughts to all !!

We had lots of fun on our train excursion yesterday. Down to Oceanside where we had lunch and off at San Juan Capistrano for coffee and visiting a few shops. Today I need to start to think about packing and dog walks worked in. I'm also working on another puzzle and binge watching Anne With an E season 2 on Netflix.

I'm trying not to stock too much food as I'm heading out soon, but it's making for me eating out a lot, which isn't great either!

Happy Sundays to you all...

Liz, glad DH issues are better for now. Poke bowls...nice. Looks different from the ones I am used to seeing. Yours looks like an Udon bowl without the broth... Bet it's tasty. Cecily, didn't know you could do the train thing in So Cal. Is it AMTRAK? Shel, no words for your day yesterday. Pretty much gobsmacked by those pictures. I am in LOVE with Goat. I was struck by how different his structure is from a domestic goat. Your Goat is so much more substantial with so much more bone. I have a big crush on him and am jealous you got to experience him and I did not!

Club party for about 20 - 25 people here yesterday. Pups are doing well and mama is taking more breaks (which is normal). I have to drive down to Carmel to drop Lucky off for "camp". He is going to live with my friends at their kennel for a few months to get ready for the nationals in October. I am already having separation issues. He will be fine, but I will miss the little bugger immensely!

Weight is up a little due to extreme quad soreness from jumping squats and weighted walking lunges - though I think the squats are the more likely culprit. It couldn't be from a little party food, could it? wink wink chortle chortle.

Best. Goat. Ever.

The very best thing was him watching me watching him. Even when he was far ahead on the trail, he would stop, twist only his neck and head around so he could (I imagine) see if I was still there. Satisfied, he moved along.

He (she?) seemed genuinely shy but curious. When I stopped for lunch atop a rock, I forgot about him for a bit. He would then appear, sometime just his upper head, from behind various rocks.

I was a bit afraid of him, this park is known for aggressive goats. I moved off my lunch rock so that I wouldn't fall off the ridge if he came close. He could climb the rocks on the other side but I sure couldn't.
