118. lost weight on trip. this is a little low for me but it will bounce back.

Home at last and back in the OH mode after 12 day trip. down to 118.5. thats a little low for me so gee i get to eat a little more. I often lose weight on trips and was very active on this one in helping with ailing mother.
I did some off plan eating and didn't track. just goes to show you how important the activity level is.

Got up for early flight. So groggy I forgot what I weighed or even if I did, coffee now diane
this can be an issue and it was for me for a long time. it improved when i was able to eat more vegetables and not use protein drinks which i think are the culprit for many of us.
for a time, i ate three prunes per day. not too many calories. then dietician suggested chia seed or flax seed. i put a teaspoon of golden flax seed on my greek yogurt every morning and it works well.
and don't forget to drink lots of water. and don't bother with bennefiber stuff. not useful.
So while working at the art gallery i googled "pictures of foxes" for a sketch i wanted to do. one of the search boxes that popped up was "pictures of fat people" which means someone must have searched that topic.
I was curious so I looked at it. There were quite a few sites with pictures of very obese people. some of them were in costumes and obviously clowning around for the camera but some of them were not. some pictures were even titled ugly fat people and some sites had comments making fun of these fat people.
I didn't look at all that many of them because it made me both angry and sad. I had no idea there were sites on the internet making fun of the obese. We all have had experiences of being mistreated because of our weight and have noticed that in some cases people treat us differently now - even close friends and family.
I really don't have a point to make except that I feel so bad for those who have not discovered the option that we have. I saw a very obese man at costco yesterday buying t shirts and commenting that there were none in his size and i just wanted to go up and tell him my husband used to be his size and what he did about it. but of course i didn't.
anyway, just a reminder to be kind to obese people and help them with this if you can.
yikes Slim, snow in colorado? I am flying there tomorrow and then driving. hope its not a bad bunch. last time got stuck overnight in denver. actually will be staying there overnight on purpose this time but hope its not a mess.
traveling back to see my mom who is failing. even though it will be stressful i am not worried about weight and overeating. weird huh? we shall see. diane
thanks for your thoughts. we are getting hospice and some other stuff. a lifelong friend is her caregiver but she is old too. but i am told its not painful. diane
getting ready to leave town. my mom is not doing well - end stages of Parkinsens. But at least the travel and work will be so much easier with 125 lbs of fat gone.
Slim, congrats on getting the job. and instead of giving yourself a tongue lashing, why not give yourself a pep talk! much more pleasant. D
it will take you time to work up to those maintenance eating goals. don't try to jump to 1500 right away. work up to it. and the carbs sound a little high but i wouldn't substitue my uneducated opinion for that of a professional.
read through old threads in this group as there are many about successful maintenance habits - especially by frisco and elina.
welcome to maintenance. you might accidently lose a little more weight but don't worry too much. be sure to keep the protein up there.
121 today. sure helps not to eat late night snacks. i think everything eaten after 9 pm has automatic triple calories. sucks because thats when everything tastes best.
lots to do today. i am being very productive as an artist and have sold lots of stuff this month so i gotta make more. house is a pigsty, yard is a wreck but who cares.
hubby and i are signed up for segway tours of san fran in a few weeks. riding a segway is something he has always wanted to do. weight limit of 300 pounds, not a problem for this two sleeve family!

122 this am. Phooey, I was whining about weighing 121.5 for days and days. Guess my scale is telling me off. oh well. time to star****ching it more. Denist today. yuck.
121.5 again. seems my scale is stuck on that number but its ok with me if it stays there forever!
did gardening yesterday after shopping, going to gallery and doing gallery banking, stopping at studio and various errands. cut limbs off the redwood and chopped out an offending sage bush and cleaned up the deck. imagine doing that with twice my weight. no way. feels good. diane
yeah the "gardening centers" are all having big expos this weekend. its quite the industry. and I bet all the grocery stores and convenience stores are hoppin' busy late tonight with all the potheads who are hungry. there is usually this big party at this one beach but the police will chase them off. so amusing for us abstainers. D
today is the ubiquitous "4-20" here in northern california. they day people celebrate with a certain herb. Needless to say i do not partake. gives you the munchies.

i had the same issue when i got to goal. i blew right past it and lost another 15 lbs or so. it was hard to eat enough while still staying away from junk calories. I used to eat a blob of peanut butter every night and that helped stop the losing. also dietician said use 2% milk for awhile and add in some complex carbs.
the good news is that this will pass and level out after some time. you will gradually be able to eat more. seems like it takes until year 2 or 2.5 for sleeve to really mature and reach capacity. now i have to avoid that blob of peanut butter or i will gain. i did regain 3 or 4 pounds from my low. my doctor told me not to worry as a few pounds back is so common.
so resist the urge to eat ice cream and focus on staying with healthy habits and add in nuts, cheese and such as you can. if possible, get a bod pod or other test of resting metabolic rate to help you calculate the calories needed in maintenance. talk to your nut for ideas. gl. diane

121.5 here. went to doctor for routine annual physical yesterday. all is well. weighed with shoes on!! lol because i don't care if it shows a few extra pounds. perfect bp and cholesterol and all that crap. four years ago that wasn't true. i was a time bomb. love my sleeve and all it has done for me. diane

121.5. off to my internist for my annual physical. tee hee he thinks i am too thin. now i LOVE getting weighed at the doctor. Imagine that!! and i love telling everyone how fat I used to be.
so all is well. off to costco to stock up on greek yogurt. diane
