Snack - ?
I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning!

The scale monster got me this morning. I weighed in and am down 4 lbs already!! Whoo hoo! Wow, that tells me Ive really been blind and must have convinced myself that I wasnt being that bad. Im on a mission. Im calling it 40 before 40. I turn 40 this year (not until October) and I plan on losing a minimum of 40 lbs this year. Im finishing the loss and working to maintenance. This foolishness is over!

Went to Zumba last night and half way thru my blood sugar dropped. I was working hard too. I could feel my legs getting shaky and started getting the tunnel vision so we had to leave early. My 17 year old daughter comes with me on Weds. I had a hard candy mint in the car and that helped until I could get home to dinner.

Today's eats:

Coffee w/ cream
Banana
Garden salad and Zone Bar
Apple and cheese stick
Dinner will be BLT on Flatbread wrap.
WW Giant fudge bar

Found these wonderful Flatbreads by La Tortilla Factory  They actually taste GOOD! I could eat it plain. They have 4-7 grams of fiber and 7-9 grams of protein depending on if you get the whole wheat or traditional. I have traditional, because I didnt see wheat. Highly recommend!

Good job on the 4 pounds!  You can reach your goal this year!  Especially with your husband on board.

Thanks. But don't they have loads of net carbs?  I am hooked on the flat-out wraps.  Not sure if you tried them. And I can buy them in Costco...   so additional savings.. They freeze very well

Forgot to tell you good luck with your sleep study! I didnt sleep at all for mine and I was afraid they would make me come back, but apparently they got enough. I wouldnt wish a sleep study on anyone. Hope they find something to help you get some sleep!

I go weeks on and off sleeping/insomnia since rny. All in all, I'd still take the insomnia over 298 lbs.

Thanks!
Over the years, I've been on every type of sleeping med, but my body finally said no more.  I've been doing the 2:00 wake-up for well over 1-1/2 years.  Nothing helps.  I know that I won't have any problem going to sleep, I don't think my head hits the pillow and I'm sleeping!  Just looking forward to getting some answers.

I havent been able to get any of my docs to let me try any Rx. I have my own ****tail I make when I cant sleep. One benadryl and  two OTC sleeping pills dpending on how bad it is. I'll still wake up at 2:30-3am though. I understand how awful it is...then I stress cause I have to get up for work and at that point you NEVER fall back to sleep! I try to stay up later, but Im just so tired I'll fall asleep and not even realize it.

Good morning!

Here is my plan! Didnt get to do Tao Bo yesterday but I am going to do it right after I post this. Hopefully my 4 year old gets a kick out of watching me do it :) There is no shame or judgment with my sweet boy! Yesterday was a basically normal food day and I ate less than 1000 calories. That seems so little, boarderline unhealthy, but I'm not going to worry too much about it.  I am very scared of eating any carbs (bread, pasta, etc) moving forward. I know that the carbs I was eating trigger cravings so I am scared to try even the Whole wheat versions.  What do you guys do with carbs? Do you eat oatmeal and healthy carbs?

Here is the meal plan today.

Prebfast: Protien coffee
Bfast: 1 egg 1 egg white, 3 oz greek yogurt mixed with 1/2 pumpkin.
Snack: Hummus and bell pepper
Lunch: Mini Turkey Meatloaf
Snack: Starbucks Iced coffee with splenda and nf milk
Dinner: Another Turkey Meatloaf (School night)
Snack at school: Prob a laughing cow with celery?
Night snack: Small serving of oatmeal (maybe...I've been really wanting it)or maybe I'll make protein oatmeal balls

Have a great day!

Hi Kriste,
I only eat steel cut oatmeal.  I make a large portion, then seperate them into small rubbermaid cups and freeze them.  They're good on the fly!

Good morning... glad you got some rest... Good luck with the sleep study

I worked late again last night... by the time I went home was 11 p.m... needed to rewind... so I had problem getting up this morning... was up at 8:20... grrr  really late to work... but that's OK. When I am there by myself -I really can have things done..

But since the day before I have sugar crash, I was hungry all day... Hate that.  And I worked so late.. and got stressed... (bills got messed up... ) so after adding all together.. I ate close to 2000 calories... The only good part on that is that today I am not really that hungry... and will watch for the rest of the week to make sure I get no more than 1000 daily (to compensate).  Smaller portions, less fat.. will be good.

On a VERY GOOD note.... even though I was really stressed ... I did not stop by a store to get wine... even in December - I may try to "medicate myself" (the anxiety - bills issue) and get wine to not feel the stress.  And the thought crossed my mind... but only for minute or 2.  So happy I didn't have to fight the urge... there is hope for me.. And the things I overate on - are still good choices: proteins, protein bars (yea,,, need to stop them), cottage cheese.  Still - too many calories... but - in the past - I would either drink or before RNY - gorge myself on sweets..

Today eats:  (decarbing again)
coffee+ coconut milk
coffee protein shake
tuna with little mustard
protein muffin
protein shake
flat-out wrap w/ cheese sticks (2) and Canadian bacon (dinner)
meatloaf

Congrats HB on exercising self control with the wine and sweets.  You did well on the major things so a little too many calories won't derail you.  You have a handle on it and are moving right along.
Stress is a trigger for too many things.  Take care,

Thank you.  You may have no idea how big step for me that is. At one time I was on a fst track to become an alcoholic.   But this week I knwo that even though I still like wine, I don't need it.
