Tess, hope you and yours are safe thru the storm.

Checking in. Missing the Botts. Im down, depressed not on track at all. Still stressed. Missed a couple bootcamps and last night was the last one. I have checked in on the scale and Im the same. Good for now, but I dont want to pu**** I really wish I was one of those people who lost their appetite when they were in a funk.

Hoping to resolve some of my issues over the weekend and looking forward to feeling better and finding a new workout. I'll be traveling alot for work over the next two months, so I didnt sign up for the next bootcamp session.

Hope you all are staying bot.

Hi Botters!

I have been crazy busy and not checking in. Im not doing too well. Havent been to bootcamp and just been eating whatever (within reason of RH and dumping). Im so happy to at least have portion control.

Husband is still out of town and I have puppy duty, but my daughter came home for a few days and has been a TREMENDOUS help. I think I would have lost it in the past couple days without her.

Im having the internal diet fight at the moment. Im resisting the 'diet'. I just want to eat 'normal' but make healthier choices. WHY is that so difficult?

I am going to bootcamp tonight. Ive told everyone already too, so I know my daughter will give me a hard time if I dont go.

Hope you all continue staying BOT!!

Honestlly, Im not sure exactly what mix she is. We were told Pittbull/Husky mix. I dont see any husky. I saw the momma and she looks like a small pittbull maybe lab mix and is black. Her brothers and sisters are either black like her or brindle. I also got to see the mommas two older pups who were about 6-8 months old (wish they would get her fixed!) and they all looked pitt/small lab and one was black and one beige.

Even the vet said she thought maybe pitt/lab mix. Raven does have a wide stance though. Either way, she is a sweetie!

THANKS!! I am trying very hard with the crate training. I try to take her out every hour and a half or so. When I see her falling asleep, I put her in her bed. She likes it. While I am home, she is either outside playing with me, playing inside, laying on/next to me or in her bed.

The teething is difficult. Trying to keep her from chewing on my fingers. I immediately give her a toy instead. I got her a puppy Kong as well hoping to keep her mind busy as well.

She is really good. She only cries for a few minutes. Right now she has started this thing where she will only eat if I am right there with her. I have to go upstairs and let her cry, then she will eat.

My mom and sister live next door, so they have puppy duty during the day.

I guess I worry about reinforcing an incorrect behavior that I'll be sorry for when she is 40-50 lbs!

Good Morning Botts!

Are there any dog people here? Im a cat person with a brand new puppy. My husband unexpectedly had to go out of town for a few weeks and Im struggling taking care of her on my own. I cant start training yet. We got her very young (only 6 weeks) and she cant start training until she finishes her first round of shots. The vet did give her the distemper though. Im exhausted! lol At least she is having a blast in the yard and Im getting extra exercise playing with her. She likes to run up and down our long drive way and we play "Tag" in the yard :)

Eats for today:

Coffee w/ cream
1/2 bagle w/ cream cheese ... yeah, not my best decision today
Quest Apple bar
Roasted chicken and sauteed spaghetti squash w/ mushrooms, onions and spinach (my recipe if anyone is interested)
Slice Arnold double protein bread w/ Skippy Natural
Last of my chicken and 'loaded cauliflower' (steamed cauliflower w/ sour cream, cheese and chives)

Bootcamp tonight

TGIF Indeed!!

Pulling myself back together. Eating ok, but not super low carb like I had been. Husband is out of town unexpectedly for a couple weeks, daughter is away so Im not really cooking much. My freezer is full of roasts and roaster chickens. Im not going to make that just for myself. Im just going to keep an eye on my food and continue working out until my stress subsides. For now, I feel like a single mother to an infant trying to take care of the puppy by myself. I could really use a nap! lol Oh, and the vet called this morning, my poor baby has round worms ;(

Eats as Im planning today:

Large coffee w/ cream
Arnold Double protein bread w/ Skippy Natural
Subway club salad
Cherries
Not sure whats for dinner yet...

Ive got lots of fresh veggies, so Im having my sister and family over Sunday. I cant eat an entire head of cauliflower and bunch of asparagus by myself before it goes bad. Looking forward to a little cooking.

Good morning. Well, not very good. Lots of excessive family stress going on. Off plan yesterday, but didnt really eat that much. With all the stress I know I wont be extremely low carb, because I wont be cooking as much and will be on the run. I'm planning on just trying to eat whole, healthy food at least until I can get my head straight.

Missed bootcamp last night. It was my momma's birthday.

On a good note though, did I tell you all I have a new baby puppy? She is really to young to be without her momma (just about 7 weeks). She is doing great and I took her to her first vet visit yesterday. They did start her on her distemper, but holding off on everything else for two more weeks. Love my sweet little puppy. She is keeping me going :) She loves to run, so I believe I have a blooming running buddy!!

Hope you all stay bott, Im working on it. I will not use this as an excuse to gain!!

HI!! IM back! and BOT as well...

Back from my trip. Have not checked the scale. Started BOT again yesterday. Did well. Back to boot camp last night too. Even had my measurements taken, so we shall see.

Im the proud owner of a new puppy as well and have been running around with her. She likes to run :)

So, I have a question for the low carbers. What are your less expensive meals? Im finding it hard to stretch my low carb shopping out for two weeks. Help?

Eats for today:

Coffee w/ cream
Scrambled egg w/ cheese and 2 slices bacon
Ham and cheese rollups
Garden salad
Cherries
Grilled flank steak and steamed veggies
SF jello w/ whip

Good morning!

Tess, glad you had a great time!

Just wanted to check in. Im out of town in a training class. I am not doing well. I started out great staying low carb, but Im way off track now. Its so difficult when you cant cook and pretty much have to eat out at every meal. I had been eating so many salads and my body had enough of the cleansing I suppose.

I get to come home tomorrow, so I really need to get back tomorrow and this weekend. I made a deal with myself to not only attend my August bootcamp, but to use the rest of my gym visits as well to get my running in.

hope you all continue to stay BOT. Im so full of guilt right now.

Thanks for the info!! I really appreciate it.

Yes, I know the first week or two are the most agressive. Mostly water. But, Im happy now, knowing that what I lose from here should be real loss.

I did add more carbs right before hitting bootcamp on Weds. I think that helped. Threw some peanut butter in my shake. Next week Im going to add a little more and see how it goes. Apples (try to limit one a day if that) and I do have my quest bars (knowing to watch out), and found a new Pure protein bar that is pretty good (I think its 12 carbs or so but does have sugar alcohols) I had to grab one at the store cause my sugar was dropping and I needed something quick. I think Kidney beans are one of the lowest beans as well. I can get a little crazy on the nuts, so Im going to hold off on those. I think Its going to be beneficial to me to add more on my bootcamp days. Just have to keep an eye on it.

Definitely TGIF!!! Sounds like you are feeling a little better Hala, good news!

So...with my first week (ok, well since Monday) of low carb down, I hopped on the scale today. 6lbs down! Yay :)

I have to say that after having rny, its much easier to stick to. Im guessing thats the reason. That or my brain is just ready. Im sure its mostly water, but I dont care! Next week may be tougher as I'll be out at training all week in NC. At least Im going alone and wont have as much temptation (hopefully) Im also wanting to get in some jogging at the hotel gym so I dont lose another week. I did sign up for a mini bootcamp that will run thru August.

eats for today:

Scrambled egg w/ spinach and cream cheese
Picked up a chicken caesar salad from Panera (no croutons)
Think Im going to try a small apple (I got with my salad) and cheese
Baked talapia and roasted cauliflower

Thanks, I hope so. Hubs isnt doing as well. Hes feeling very lethargic. I told him to add in more, like nuts, seeds, beans, and low GI fruit like apples, strawberries, cherries and plums.

He can have more than I can. Damn men, they get it so easily. ****** me off.

Tess, Im sure you'll get plenty of walking in on your trip. Sometimes you just need to sleep. Have a great time!!

Day two low carb down. Im doing quite well. The craving monster still hasnt gotten me. For that Im grateful. Unfortunately Ive been very cranky and just blue. Im assuming its just a coincidence as I know I get to feeling like this at times...which also really baffles me as to why Im not craving sweets. Oh well...dont question it!!

Eats for today:

XL Coffee w/ cream
scrambled egg w/ cheese and bacon (Had to spit out the bacon....waaay too salty today)
Yay for taco bar today. The pulled pork is great
Shake before the gym
1/2 Stuffed pepper

Bootcamp tonight.

Thanks! I'll have to try it with protein powder.  This is going to take a little experimentation, but at least its fast and easy. Dont have to wait for it to cook a long time or make a big batch so you can try out a couple different styles.

I tried this recipe for the first time last night. The recipe I posted...I wasnt so crazy about. Thought it was kinda bland and definitely needed more Splenda.

I tried a savory one. I used garlic powder, parsley flakes, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese.  That one I liked better. Tried it with cream cheese on top. That helped alot! Im thinking it would be really good toasted for a little crunch.

I made mine in a ramekin, maybe 2 cup size. I used oil because I assumed that the butter would need to at least be soft and mine wasnt.

Now, my mind is going in all kinds of directions. Just need to play with it a little.

Hala,

Have you tried these MIM's? Meal in Mug...I think its called. Mostly flaxseed. Can you do flaxseed? Ive seen this recipe and Im going to try to make one tonight and see how it turns out. You can make them sweet or savory depending on what you throw in.

I'll let you know how they turn out.

Ingredients

1/4 Cup flaxseed meal

1/2 Teaspoon baking powder

1/2 packet granular sugar substitute

1 Teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 large egg, beaten

1 Teaspoon butter (or canola oil)

Directions

Mix the flax meal, baking powder, sugar substitute and cinnamon in a coffee mug or single-serving soufflé dish.

Add the egg and butter (or oil). Mix with dry ingredients.

Microwave 1 minute or more, until firm

Turn out and serve with butter or cream cheese. Or toast before applying spread.

Good Morning.

Tess, that pasta sounds amazing!! Tomato, basil and olive oil are my absolute favorite! YUMMMMY!

Day one of the low carb adventure went better than expected. I didnt have as hard of a time with cravings as I was expecting. I did want something quick between work and the gym so I made a quick shake with low carb protein and almond milk. That was great. Bootcamp was hard, but I think its only because I was out a week and a half.

Eats for today:

Coffee w/ cream
Scrambled egg w/ cheese and 2 slices bacon
Leftover 1/2 chicken breast to make into a caesar salad
Iced Latte protein shake
Cheese stick and deli turkey breast, on hand if I need it
Grilled flank steak and sauteed zucchini with onions and parm.

If I need a dessert, I'll make a protein smoothie

Topic: RE: HOW
There is only one way to find out! The best thing you can do is try again.

If you havent 'tried' to get back on track in some time, try just getting back to the basic rules. Lean protein first, followed by veggies then fruit and good, healthy complex carbs. I found it easier to journal what I was eating (not necessarily while I was being perfect) to LOOK at what I was eating all day. Adjust from there.

I really like to use Sparkpeople (free!) to count. I cant have a cell phone at work and that site allows me to login online at work for tracking as well as using my phone at home. Lots of support, tips, recipes and workout ideas there.

Good luck to you!!

Thanks Hala. I do have a test kit so I will do that. I dont want the bars to keep me out of ketosis.

I have eaten them before and never had a problem with them. I am a dumper and have rh, but Im strictly limiting my carbs Atkins Induction style. Maybe I'll wait for my first two weeks before introducing them.

Good morning.

I have woken up WAY on the wrong side of the bed today. Its easing a little, but hope it gets better. Im very grouchy and having a hard time wiping this scowl off my face. Not good. Its the alarm's fault for waiking me up!!

Officially started low carb today. Hate having to do this, but its a last ditch effort. Im optimistic, but only time will tell.

Eats for today:

Coffee w/ cream
Scrambled egg w/ cheese and 2 slices bacon
garden salad
Shake
Ham and cheese rollups
Grilled chicken breast and steamed vegs

At least I know I'll get my protein in! I have ordered some Quest bars too. Cant wait...they should help with the sweet cravings.

Bootcamp tonight.

Good morning . Yeah, still morning technically.

Im back from the beach. Unfortunately, not really back on track yet. I didnt do too bad, thank God for restriction and dumping to keep me in line. I had alot of guilt one night. The In laws insisted on taking us to one of those huge AYCE seafood buffets. They know I cant eat that much. I had one plate and felt sick. I got up to make another plate thinking I could push the food around and make it look like I had another one, but I couldnt do it. I felt bad they spent the money on me, but come on! they know me and know I cant eat that much. I just felt bad.

And since just coming back money is tight until the weekend. I want to try Paleo as thats what my trainer is suggesting. Bascially low carb which Im very familiar with, but cant afford to go shopping. So, it will have to wait until Monday.

Today Im going to just try to eat like a normal, healthy person.

Boot camp tonight if it doesnt get cancelled due to heat.

Have a great day everyone!
