Surgeon Testimonial

Philip Chin, M.D.
I found Dr Chin very personable, and patient. He endeavored to be thorough, and answer all my questions. I found him warm and caring with a wonderful bedside manner and, I feel he is quite competent. He not only visited me before going into the operating room, but his anestiesiologist also came and put me at ease. When I was wheeled to my room he was there too. I could not have asked for better care. If there is anything negative it would have to be I was kept waiting at my followup appointment in the exam room so long I almost fell to sleep.

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

My surgery was on May 23rd. My surgeon was Dr. Philip Chin. Dr Chin was very patient and informative with me. When with him I was made to feel I was the most important patient he had. The surgeon and his staff were remarkable. They took very good care of me. I had Kaiser Permanente as my healthcare provider. The road to surgery was a very long one, and I do think Kaiser needs to modify a few things to speed up the process. I found all the waiting stressful. With Kaiser you have to be your own advocate. Make calls right away and get your appointments. I found they do not call you. God Luck to everyone.

My name is Barbara. I am 63 years old. I retired March 2011. I have dealt with weight issues since the day I was born. Now I have decided that after years of doing for everyone else it is time to do for myself. My health is important to me, and I have decided this is a journey long overdue. What a journey for an old gal!
Getting healthy.  Not eating much.  Not hungary.  Each day is another day towards
goal.  Looking forward to being healthy, thin and energized!
