Starting my journey !
posted on 2/26/12 12:38 am
My first attempt at getting weight loss surgery was a big fail.At age 19, I was jumping through the endless insurance hoops, and dealing with some well.. not so smart people, it was just a disaster. Being about 90% complete, I was told I was "to unstable" to be approved for the surgery and needed another 6 months of seeing a psychologist.
After reading the evaluation she had written about our visits I soon realized this lady was the unstable one, not me!
I literally thought I was reading someone elses results, she had such important information about me, that was completely untrue!
Ex. She had written that my step-father was a 50 year old consturction worker, in reality my step-father is a 37 year old tow truck driver. I clearly would no lie about something so silly! Line after line I was reading such rediculous things like stated above and was blown away! The woman constantly was on vacation and I could never get a hold of her to schedule appointments, and the ones I was scheduled were so widely timed out, 2-3 months between visits while she went on skiing trips in the Netherlands.
Taking two years out of my life, just to be told it was all for nothing, was kind of a big let down. All of my previous work "expired" All of my weigh in's were no longer current and everything was worthless at this point. Then being told to do another 6 months, ugh!  I decided to take a break from it.

Here I am, 21 years old, and ever more determined than the first time I am back at it!
Unlike the first try, this time IT WILL happen for me. I can feel it in my bones (Yep, even under all that fat!) :)
Everything is working out so smoothly for me, its almost to good to be true!
I have a great staff working with me, and actually listening!
I started my journey at the beginning of February of 2012. So far I have gotten so much completed, I could just scream!
I've been to the class to learn about the surgery. Step one complete.
I have seen my nurse to get measurments, and weigh ins. Step two complete!
I have ALREADY seen my psychologist once, and already have my second appointment with him (Only 2-3 more visits!)
I have my appointment with my nutrionist set for this week. (Only need 1 visit!)
Blood work this week.
And a 10 week phone course first appointment for this Tuesday! (10 weeks to go!)
Lose 15 lbs
Send in everything for insurance approval!
So far, but SO close!
I am hoping by July (anytime sooner is just fine with me) but I would like to be realistic. July seems like a good amount of time to get everything complete, and hear back from insurance, and get a date set. It's a ways away but I've found the months to fly by !

Wish me luck! I'm not giving up!
