Surgeon Testimonial

Ronald H. Clements, M.D.
I had my first initial visit with Dr. Clements today, 2/8/02 and I was very impressed with him. His bedside manner was wonderful. He was straight to the point. His staff was very nice. Especially the insurance girl Michelle. There wasn't anything that I didn't like about Dr. Clements, because he was just straight forward. All future patients should know that Dr. Clements is the best and that you will most certainly be in good hands. He really emphasized how important aftercare is and how much better you would be off if you continued your appointments. Dr. Clements have a very thorough and structured aftercare program that he strickly emphasize that his patients attend, for their own good. He addressed all the risk of surgery and that it's not a cosmetic procedure but it is strickly for health reasons. Overall I will rate Dr. Clements an A+. His surgical compentence and beside manner were both great and equally in importance.

On Tuesday, June 12, I will be having a biopsy on my left breast. I had a breast reduction on February 5. Went for 3 month check up last week and I reported that a lump was in my breast. The surgeon thinks it is only scar tissue, but he wants to make sure. Pray that everything is alright.

Another Year
on May 23, 2009 9:42 am
Well, I have made another year of WLS. March 12, 2009 was 7 years out, and still I don't reqret any minute of it, and yes, I will do it all over again if I had to. In the 7 years I have had a TT two years after in 2004 and two years after that a breast reduction, 2007. I have truly been blessed and still grateful for having this surgery. People you constantly say, this is the easy way out really need to be educated. This has been hard trying to maintain and do what I am suppose to do to maintain, and mainly what I am trying to do now is be on a maintenence program and maintain what I have. I have really kept up my exercising and trying to do what I supppose to do. Just want to check in because I promised to be witness to this procedure and in turn help someone else who is trying to figure if it is the best thing for them to do. Life is good for me. I am now 52 years old, wife, mother work 2 full time jobs and 1 part time job, active in my church and community, and a full time student and all the other perks that goes with be a woman. I am going to do all I can, as long as I can and the best that I can.

Hello
on November 22, 2008 9:15 am
It has been a long time since I have posted, but I am still doing well. It is almost 7 years out and my tool still works. I am basically trying to live like a smaller person now, in every way possible. Exercise is a big part of my life now, I go to the gym 5 days a week and I am beginning to lift weights. I am trying to tone up my body, I don't worry about what the scales say right now, I hardly weigh. My doctor say, "throw away the scale" get a tape measure and measure inches that are lost, and that is what I am trying to do. Hopefully, next year I am going to get a personal trainer and work on weight lifting. I am trying to tone my arms and I am doing a pretty good job.

Hello

It has been a long time since I posted. Like 4 months, my how time does fly. I am still me doing things I should not be doing, but who knows better than me what I need to do. I have gained weight but I am not going to worry about it because I know what I need to do to get back on track.

I am trying to get on the straight and narrow right now, eating right, getting in exercise and taking my vitamins, and the hardest of all getting in the needed amount of water I need.

You all continue to pray for me and I will do the same for you. Be Blessed!

Today Is My Day!
on March 12, 2008 7:28 am
Like the song says " Today is my day, Today is my day, get ready, get ready, get ready for a miracle.

March 12, 2002 I started on this marvelous WLS journey. It was in Birmingham, Alabama at the University of Alabama in Birmingham where it all started.

This is truly the best decision that I have made in my entire life and I am so happy. I am not where I want to be, but thank God I am not what I use to be. God has spared me to see 51 years of life and at the mere age of 45 I started out on this journey.

God has truly blessed me these 6 years with so much confidence and vitality. I actually love myself. I know I am beautiful and I pat my ownself on the back, by encouraging myself.

So, if you are researching WLS and think that it is the easy way out, NO it's not! It is a journey you will haveto go through the rest of your life. Live life like there is no tomorrow and you will receive everything God has in store for you.

I hope that something is said here that my help  you along your journey. I tried to keep up over the years with my journal. I have been a dedicated members since 2001.

I started the WLS Journey in October of 2001. I have been a member that long, a long time isn't it. I had WLS on March 12, 2002, and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life and, I will do it over again, in a minute!
