Surgeon Testimonial Michael A. Todd, M.D., F.A.C.S. I met with him 2/7/07! The doctor he's nice, caring, and compassionate. At 1st I was worried, my appt took forever, and the office was so busy. It seemed like a mad house! But once it was finally my turn I was excited and relieved, he took his time and answered all my question and was really personable. He was great and very informative! Hey All !!!! I'm a loving, caring, and fun person. I'm a single mother of a 5 year old little boy. And he keeps me busy. I'm just really ready to get this journey completed! My Story My story is similar to everyone elses. I grew up overweight and it continued once I had my son and now I'm stuck with what's left. I started this process last year as a self pay patient. Then I looked into going to Mexico. Well now I have private insurance so I'm starting all over again. I'm nervous and excited. I have my orientation 2/7/07 and my 1st appt with the Doctor 2/8/07. Im on my way!!! 2/8/07 Oh……. I have officially STOPPED SMOKING!!!! Dr. Todd refuses to operate on any patients that smoke. It’s been hard, but I have to do it in order to receive the surgery. 2/12/07 Hello…. I haven’t posted in a while…. So I met the Doctor last week and I now have all my pre-op testing that I have to start. Not much, just the Chest x-rays, Abd ultrasound, Labs, Upper GI, EKG, PFT, Psych eval. I won’t see the Dietitian till next week. But I’m gonna get them all done on Mon 2/19/07 since I’m off that day. I’m gonna spend the whole day @ the hospital. Trying to kill all the birds with 1 stone. Well I’m gonna go I’ll post more later. 2/19/07 HI, I’m touching base today. I had all my appts today. I started my day @ 7am going to the hospital. I 1st did the Barium swallow for my upper GI and that crap was gross!! The whole day was busy, I’m drained. I saw the psych lady and she was cool, the appt lasted only 30 minuets, she said I had a lot of good info and really did my research. I would be all done if I didn’t have to do the 6 months weight lost monitoring. Oh well a few more months! 3/7/07 Hello again, I’m just touching base with everyone! Well I joined the gym again…. I’m going 3 times a week. It’s been ok so far. I still have to see the dietitian next week then the sleep doctor, and then I’ll officially be done with all the pre testing. I still have till July for the weight monitoring. Hope time flies bye! 3/23/07 Wuzup, I’m touchin base with everyone. I had my f/up w/ Dr. Todd’s office and everything is good, my labs, psych eval, EKG, pulmonary, and its all good. I now just have to see the sleep Dr. next week, after that it’s smooth sailing, at least till July when I’m done with my weigh lost monitoring. I have lost 4lbs in a month. I'm happy about that. Well I'll touch back soon. Oh….. Pretty soon I’ll be looking for an ANGEL ! 4/11/07 Hi, it’s been a while since posting. I saw the sleep doctor; I have been CLEARED for surgery. I had to use the monitor for 2 days the 1st day I didn’t have enough sleep recorded the 2nd day I made sure I went to bed early. I’m done with all the pre-testing just 3 more months of weigh lost monitoring then my packet gets sent for approval. I’m keeping my fingers crossed everyday. 6/15/07 Hey!!! Long time no hear from. I’m ok just finishing up my last moth of wls monitoring. I’m so excited. I need a ANGLE! 8/20/07 Hello everyone! I’m doing fine. I stayed 1 day in the hospital, 1 week @ home and today I’m back @ work. Since then I have lost 20lbs. I’m soooooo excited. 9/10/07 I MADE IT ! 4 weeks out today and I’m officially down 30lbs, not bad for a months worth of time. Anyhow I meet with the dietitian on the 26th I’m looking so forward to some new food choices! All is good, I’ll post later. BYE
2/13/08 HELLO ! Well its 6 months already, and I’m down -65 lbs. 9/27/07 My WOW moment, 11/15/07 Wuz up! Hello all I’m stopping bye to check in. I’m officially 3months and 5 days out and I’m feeling great! 10/10/07 HEY !! Its 2 months postop! 7-2-07 YEAH!!!!!!! I’m officially done with the Damn WLS monitoring. It’ll take a week to get chart notes, then another week for insurance, and then I should be on my way. Hoping around the 26th of July. I’m still in need of an ANGEL, if anyone is interested.

So if anyone out there is interested I could sure the support. I’m pushing for a date in the 2nd week of July. I’ve heard that my insurance doesn’t take long to respond. I’ll keep everyone posted. 
All is good. I’m still wearing band aids on my incisions. I started the gym I’m only walking though. My complexion has come back. My friends and family can all notice a small difference. I have more energy now. Well I’m closing out for now I’ll post later. 
But the weight lost is still going ok I’ve uploaded new pictures, there 4 months out. 
I’ll post more later. 
I’m now considered being at the half way mark. As u can see I posted new pics and I’m happy as can be. I can go for another 30lbs lose then I’ll be satisfied! I did have my 6 month follow up and everything is good, labs, iron, blood, protein level, my health ! This journey has taught me a lot about myself that I CAN make changes. That’s my new motto for the new me “CHANGES”. 
I want to again, thank everyone whose followed my through this process, cause at times it was hard. 
if anyone has any good ones PLEASE let me know, other then that I’m getting my protein from the foods I eat. My hair is still acting crazy as well; I went ahead and got it cut off. All is well, I’m happy and life is good.

And I feel great. Not much new going on, just trying to eat more, I was told it would be “trial & error “at this point so I take it 1 meal at a time. Weight ummm....... I don’t own a scale but I can see the difference, so I have lost a lot in “inches”. I’m wearing size LRG top and MED pants like 8-10! 
, I’m APPROVED!!!!!!!!
