I just wanted to tell you I saw your new photos and you look so great! You give a lot of inspiration to a seven day postop, I'm starting out at the same weight you did and to hit the 140's would be a dream come true! Keep up the good work!~

Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now almost 2 months – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 82 pounds!!! Good luck!

My Story

****CURRENT UPDATES ON TOP*****

10 MAY 2008
Where did the time go?!?!?! Well, we’re now in Yokosuka, . We moved here March 21, 2008. My daughter is now 2 years old, please dear lord help me. But besides that everything else is going GREAT!!!  I'm just maintaining my weight, hovering around 147 to 152 (still within my BMI range), but that's due to the fact, I had what I call "breast reconstruction surgery", after I was done breast feeding, I’d lost the remaining breast tissue I had. Ok long story short Dec 18th, 2007, my awesome plastic surgeon, Dr. Mark Eberbach, in Hudson, Florida (here’s a shameless plug for him www.eberbachplasticsurgery.com ) did a fabulous job at giving me back my womanhood, I decided on the 600cc Mentor silicone implants (more natural look), which put me at the same size I was before I lost all the weight, ok maybe a little bigger, but it looks really good on me from what Rich says & no more saggy skin, that’s always a PLUS. Unfortunately, I had to pay out of pocket about $6000 b/c the NAVY would not pay for any part of my surgery, claiming it wasn't medically necessary, WHATEVER!!! So now I have to start saving up the money so I can the lower part of my body done, b/c I now for damn sure that they won't pay for that either, b/c "I have no rashes" that's what I've been told already, but I'll talk to some docs here & maybe who knows......
But anywhooo, my life has been so busy with moving to another country, Katelyn being so smart-I have to stay on top of her at all times (she's been using the potty since 11 months old but we haven’t really been enforcing it but now she’s wanting to), to getting back on my own routine of eating healthier & exercising more, now that we’re settled in, being military we all know how that goes.  Oh, if you are reading this saying……..how can she be overseas & have had WLS…….IT CAN BE DONE, no I don't have an EFM thingy or anything like that, but I am 4 years out from surgery.  Just have your doctor look at your stats & if blood counts are “within the ranges" you should have no problems coming over.  Well I think that’s everything I hope this find everyone in good health. And as always if you have any question, comments or concerns please feel free to write to me & I’ll get back with you as soon as I can. And if you are one of the few that actually had my # from when we lived in Jacksonville, it’s still the same, we switched to Vonage (VOIP) so it will work over here in Japan without having to pay international charges but please remember we’re 13/14 hours ahead of the East Coast.  I would love to hear from you.

Until next time take care & GOD BLESS, Myra

 29 OCT 2006
Gosh its been a long time, my baby is almost 8 months old. Well since my last update I had a completely normal pregnancy, with a weight gain of 40lbs (which was okayed by my OB) & I had my beautiful baby girl, Katelyn Rosalie, on MARCH 3, 2006 ~ 5lbs 14 1/2ozs ~ 19 1/2 inches long, 3 weeks early, which we (Rich & I) think the dates were screwed up just a bit, like 3 to 4 weeks off by the ultrasounds that I had once a month. But anyways she is doing great. She just took her 1st trip on a airplane & did wonderful no crying or anything, she just slept throughout the 1 1/2 hour flight. As for me, I'm doing good just trying to keep the weight on, gosh never thought that I'd be making that statement, I'm still breastfeeding along with her eating soild food as well, so I have to make sure that I eat a "butt load" of calories. But I lost all the weight & then some within 2 months. Everything else is going good we are still in FLA, for now, but are planning on moving back to VA for our next duty station, but we have to see what the navy has planned for us. Unitl the next time Take Care & GOD BLESS, Myra

29 JUL 2005
Well, it's that time again to give you all an update, I can’t believe I’m almost 18 months Post-Op & boy-oh-boy do I have one for you. ARE YOU READY???? Well Rich & I are finally going to have a baby!!!! Yes you read it right ~~WE'RE PREGNANT~~!!!!!! And we weren't even trying, "It" happened the weekend of the 4th of July, we were at home in N.P.R. (Tampa) visiting & having a good time with our families. But besides that I'm doing really well just VERY VERY tired. I have already spoke & met with a nutritionist here & also with the OB dept @ NAS JAX & everyone is so nice & understanding all my anxiety, after all this is my 1st one. I’ll keep you up to date with any info as soon as I get it. But as far as my weight loss goes I still am maintaining at around 145 (as of this AM) which I’ve been there since I was 10mths P/O. Please feel free to e-mail me privately if you have any ??’s & I’ll get back with you as soon as I can drag my butt out of bed.
TAKE CARE & GOD BLESS, Myra

Well I don't have much to report. We're trying to find a house, we aren't having one built due to the builder (doing a crappy job on other houses), I'm not paying that much money to live in a CRAP HOLE, and I think you all know what I'm talking about. But other than that Rich & I are doing well & have adjusted to the Florida life, HOT HOT HOT!!!! We are just living life to the fullest. I'm still at anywhere from 142 to 148, depending on the time of the month. I'm so happy I had this surgery; I just wish that I had it done a year earlier. I don't have any serious problems, I just sometimes forget that I had the surgery & when that happens, I get a slap back into reality, but I think that everyone has had that happen to them, it doesn't happen very often though. I hope this finds everyone in good health. If anyone has any ??'s PLEASE feels feel to e-mail me & I'll get back with you as soon as I can. TAKE CARE & GOD BLESS, Myra

23 APR 2005
Well there's only a couple new things to report, I got a job last month & last week I decided to get my hair cut, REALLY REALLY SHORT, who knew I had very wavy hair, at least I do now with it being this short. As soon as I can get a pic, I'll put it on here, not sure when that will be though. My life is going great. We’re still very busy looking for a house. I think we’re going to get one built instead of buying an “old” one. But that’s all going on here, so I’m going to go for now, until next month Take Care & GOD BLESS. Myra

09 MAR 2005
I just got back from Virginia. I had my 1 year post-op appointment w/ Dr. Lord. He said that I'm doing very well & not to lose anymore, I'm good right where I'm at, anywhere from 142-150. He did say that he wants me to get in more yogurts at least 1 a day, but other than that he's proud of my progress & that when ever we are ready, my hubby & I can start trying to have a baby. I can believe it he okayed it & I'm only 13 months out, (average is 18-24mos. P/O). He said that b/c I've been at this weight for the past 3 to 4 mos. (not going more than a few lbs. up & down/142-150, normal bounce) that he's giving me the OK. He wants to see me back at my 18 mo. mark, but he'll be gone by then, so I think that I'm going to make the drive in July, so I can see him before he leaves for Pensacola, FL., I know for a fact him & Jan (case mgr) are going to be missed severely. But at least they’ll be closer to me, I think that it’s only 3-4 hr drive, ok my VA guys, I won’t rub it in.  I also saw my OB/GYN while I was there, NO I'M NOT PREGNANT, Dr. Girtelschmid out of Portsmouth Naval, said that I'm on the right track with everything & that I’m disappearing. He wants me to start taking folic acid & gave me the low down on what & how to take everything while I am pregnant, just in case I can’t find a “GOOD” doc down here. But other than that he wants me to just take it easy & have fun. But he did tell me NO STRESS, I have a bad habit of stressing about stupid stuff. I need to just relax, it will happen when it happens.
While I was there I also got the chance to go the support group meeting. It was so nice to be able to see everyone, especially my roomie Cindy, you look AWESOME chick, keep it up, I’m so proud of you. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to spend a lot of time up there. I can’t believe I managed to do all this in the 2 days I was there, I was very busy. I wish I was able to spend a few more days there so I could have seen everyone, hopefully I can see everyone while there in July. That’s probably going to be my last trip up there, to see my doctors, but hopefully not to see my friends (that I LOVE so dearly). Well now that I have written a book here I’m going to go for now. Until next month Take Care & GOD BLESS. Myra

20 FEB 2005
Well it’s been a bit since I last updated. My life has been very crazy with the holidays, moving & then hubby off to school in California. First off the holidays went very well, I actually had a few family members telling me not to lose anymore, I look good where I’m at, which felt GREAT, & I'm trying my damnest not to, due to me being at Dr. Lord’s goal, I’m between 142(my lowest) to 149, depending on the day, but still in the “normal” range for my BMI. I'm just trying to get my proteins in first, and then the veggies/fruit & then carbs come last if any at all & more than anything to take all my vitamins. After the holidays, I came back from Tampa to JAX for a couple a weeks to unpacked a little more & went to the NAS JAX support group, which is a good group, but not as GREAT as the one up there in VA (I'll always be partial to that one)!!!!! Then back to Tampa to drop off Pudge (my dog) with g-ma & g-pa, I was then off to San Diego, to see the hubby, my 1st trip there. We had a lot of fun, met a lot of nice people & went to a lot of places. Who would have thought 13months ago I would be doing this, not me. Well when I got back to JAX, I made my 1-year post-op appointment for March 4 (just 1 month behind, but then again that’s me, LOL), so I’ll be able to be there for the March support group, but I’ll only be able to be there for a few days, so that I can get my check up with Dr. Lord & also my gyn Dr. G. (who’s also at NMCP), he wants to see me so I can get my body ready so that we can start trying for the baby once Dr. Lord gives me the big OK. That probably won’t happen till summer, but he wants me to start taking folic acid & pre-natals & whatever else about 6months prior to me getting pregnant, so that the baby & I have everything that we need once I do. Well that’s what I’ve been up to for the past couple months. And after my trip back up to Virginia I’m staying put for a long while, HOPEFULLY. My mom says that my dad has me so close now, 4hrs better than 14hrs, it just drives him nuts that I can’t be there every weekend. Yeah I might be almost 30 years young, but I’ll always be daddy’s little girl. I just so sick so traveling, I never in a millions year thought I would ever say that. On that note, I’m going to close for now. As always if you have any ?’s for me or just want to chat please feel free to e-mail me & I’ll get back with you ASAP. Take Care & GOD BLESS

I know I don't post on here, but I'm hoping that will change. Well, just to let everyone know we made it to Mayport/JAX, FL. Just trying to get settled into our house. OH, the best thing of all is I'm at goal 147. I can't believe I made it to goal in 10 months. THIS ROCKS!!!!! I'm doing well, I can eat anything that I might be craving, but I know my limit & that's very important to always remember. But other than that it's all about boxes for me. Please e-mail me if you have any ?'s about my progress or you just want to chat. Take Care & GOD BLESS
