Hi CA Karen! Congrats on having your surgery! I bet you feel relieved now. It's over and now you are on the other side and can join the ranks of the losers. Welcome, my friend!!! Happy RE-Birthday to you! From this day forward you life will change forever. Just try to take it easy and remember to sip, walk, deep breathe and cough. These first few days are rough, but I assure you they get better with each passing day. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today and that you are in my thoughts and prayers for an uncomplicated, swift recovery. You are an official loser!! Wishing you much success in your weight-loss journey. Soft hugs to you today. God bless, DI from NJ - Lap RNY, 12/09/03 -53 lbs

Thanks so much for your comments and emails...I was so blessed to find all this waiting for me when I returned home from surgery......That's really special to me...means alot! All went spectactularly well...I feel wonderful...no pain...Checked in the hospital at 1:30 on Wed afternoon...surgery at 3:30...in my room by 8 p.m....laproscopic surgery....off all the pain meds by Thursday afternoon... walking... drinking..everything functioning well...and I was discharged at 2:30 on Friday afternoon. Best of all my blood sugar has stayed in the 120-130 range since Friday. The worst part: it took 5 tries to get the IV started in Pre-Op..no fluids for 16 hours was a bit long...it was painful until they finally hit a good one on the top of my hand....Second worst: the neck pain from the gas used for surgery...it all travelled up to my chest (alot of pressure)...then settled in my neck...achey achey...that was gone by Friday morning... I was home Saturday morning by 10:30...just in time to celebrate at my grandson's first birthday party at the park!!!... Now, the continuing journey...I'm pretty excited...and can't wait to get in the pool and start stretching out and exercising some and getting some sun! Thanks again! Karen

Hi Karen, I'd say don't be nervous but heck, I was. Of course it was for nothing (except I burned a few extra calories) because my surgery went fine. For me, the week before surgery was harder than the week after just because of the unknown. Right after surgery I was more sore than in pain; nothing that couldn't be handled. Keep it positive. That includes only positive people around you. The negative ones are just ill-informed and will sap your confidence. My best wishes and I hope all your health and weight-loss dreams come true,

Best of luck with your surgery. I will have ya in my prayers for a painfree and speedy recovery. ****Loving Father, I entrust my AMOS friend to your care this day; guide with wisdom and skill the minds and hands of the medical people who minister in your Name, and grant that every cause of illness be removed, I may be restored to soundness of health and learn to live in more perfect harmony with you and with those around them. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.*** ~~T

The purpose of life's journey is not always crystal clear; Especially when the road we travel is sometimes paved with fear. Yet we keep the faith, and trust God's light will guide us, far and near; While we pray for strength and courage to cope with the struggles we face here. So, if a word or two could offer you some comfort, hope or cheer, Please know that thoughts and prayers are with you each day throughout each year. Good Luck on the Losing side!!
