Why Dream

What would you say if you were told not to dream? 
What would you do if you were told not to believe? 
Told dreaming was nonsense, life is about facts. 
You are who you are deal with that. 

You can’t aspire for better things. 
Because aspirations are only dreams. 
Close your eyes, what do you see? 
Oh wait those aren’t real, we shouldn’t dream. 

What scares me the most if we can’t dream? 
I cannot dream so the simple things. 
I cannot dream for love, health or a happy life.
I cannot dream for happiness at any price. 

Can I dream for peace, can I ask you this? 
A better life is all I wish. 
If I were the same as you, wouldn’t we be bored. 
Without dreams would people’s passions not be explored? 

I believe in dreaming it is who I am. 
Without dreaming we would have no plan. 
Life without dreaming is like a body without a heart. 
Without a dream were would your morning start? 

I stopped dreaming once, lived life day to day. 
Got to a point in life I didn't want to go or stay. 
Then I believed in a dream, I believed in me. 
Found my friends and they believed. 

So don't stop dreaming, for in our darkest hour. 
Dreams are what can give us our special powers. 
Looking back on our live as the way we live. 
If we did not dream then why did we give? 

One more thing I ask of you this. 
Did you ever dream for that perfect kiss? 
Did you ever dream for that perfect life? 
But if you don't dream then what gives you the right?
