Welcome to my page, I bit about me, I am happily married to my husband, have 2 wonderful daughters , Jillian 10 and Leah 8.

I want this surgery to become healthier, fit and live to see my grandchildren. I'm tired of being tired, aching etc.

I love to meet new friends and give any encouragement I can, my hubby had this surgery June 5/06 and is doing wonderfully.

I am to have surgery on Dec.21st with Dr. Sullivan! Its been a long 21/2 years to wait. I am glad that i'm having it done here, just in case of complications. I feel very blessed to be given this opportunity, its better than anything money could buy!

My Story

June 15/07

Well an update is a long time coming!!  I had a few bumps in the road, in January my bowel twisted which caused me agony for hours with vomitting blood and in hospital x2days it resolved on own but was told it could happen again. And it did on Feb19/07 I ended up having surgery again to fix it which was successful.

Well I'm glad to say.... I am doing great! I have lost 80lbs went from a size 28pant to a 16!! Life is so much better and easier. I am eating almost everything, red meat with caution and I stay away from bread ( it usually makes me sick) which is a good thing. I don't seem to dump, but I only have small amts of anything I shouldn't be having.

The compliments are always nice to hear and you know I think that strangers treat you different, they actually notice you! Kinda cheeses me off in a way, just because I know things would be different if I were still FAT!!

Welcome Friends, Well I started to research WLS in June 2004, I then applied for OCC in Aug/04 waited until Nov 26/04 to find out that I had been denied! I was so depressed! I didn't have the energy to fight it. I  then read about Dr. Laz Klien and heard it was about a 9 month wait for surgery. I quickly had my family Dr. refer me to him. In June/05 I had my first consult. He was very pleasant but I was very dissappointed that all of my specialist appts. were almost scheduled a year later with the next consult being July/06. Well I was so sure that I would be having surgery by the fall but was told by him it would likely be the next summer 2007!!!

Meanwhile my hubby who initially thought i'd lost my marbles to even consider this surgery, was referred to Dr. Starr in Sept.05 and had his surgery in June/06. I was so happy for him. Yet very frustrated. I really was getting depressed, I hurt all the time. I wake up feeling like a truck ran over me, my back kills me, both my ankles have begun to swell and to top it all off I found out in October/06 my blood pressure was 228/124! I was made to go to emerg to have it brought down to normal limits by I.V. meds and now I'm taking 2 different medications to keep it down.

I was so worried as my father had 2 heartattacks and 5 bypasses when he was only 53 and I'm 40. To think I could drop dead and leave my lovely daughters Jillian 10 and Leah 8 was so scary for me. Well I thought it was time to be a bit assertive (so unlike me). I made an appt. with Dr. Klein to discuss this. Well I left that office crying my eyes out! Now mind you I had been awake since 3am left my house at 5am and waited for my appt. from 7 to 9:30am. He didn't seem to think my increased blood pressure was any different from any other obese person and since my BMI was only 46 I would be placed at the bottom of the waiting list. I pleaded with him for another option and he told me about Dr. Sullivan and him performing the RNY as a new skill. Dr. Klein offered to refer me to him which I of course jumped at. Its been so long. I left that day feeling hopeless because I couldn't believe it would really happen.

Well after praying my heart out, I got the call on Monday November 13/06. I have a DATE!!

December 21/06!!!

I am so thankful to Dr. Klein. I have since found two lovely woman who were Dr. Sullivans first patients to have this surgery and I want to say a gre at big thank you to both Cindy and Tara! If not for you guys this probably would not have happened. I owe you big time!!

Floating on cloud 9 at the moment!

Nov.23/06

Well I met Dr. Sullivan, he is such a nice guy. His secretary is nice as well. He was honest and easy to talk to. I tried to convince him to take out my gallbladder as well, as I have gallstones although they don't bother me. He hesitates to do it as it could cause more problems but will consider it. YAY

Got my Optifast and will start it on Dec.8th YUCK!!

I'm so excited still can't sleep! I'm sure i'll do plenty of that after though. Took my measurements ooooooooo that was scary! LOL

Just gotta take those nasy before pics.

Dec. 11/06

Well its day 4 on the ol' Optifast, what a killer! I think this may be the hardest thing i've done! Not eating is not the problem, food doesn't bother me. Its the horrible taste and the hunger!! It hurts. I think it may be getting a little less, i'm hoping! Well 5lbs gone so far, thats the best thing! I can do it, I can do it, I can do it!! I will do it!

Aug 12 2008

Well i'm so bad, I actually just noticed i haven't kept this updated. Wow! Life is so much fun, i never think of little things like this.

Well...I've lost 125lbs I went from 265 to 140lbs, I just had a tummy tuck done 5 days ago and am so pleased with the results I can't say enough of my plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Kriedstein. He and his staff are second to none. I will be having a breast lift in the near future as well. I self payed as OHIP would not cover it as I don't suffer from any rashes or infections etc. It is all worth it.

will post more pics when I can notice a difference!
