Welcome. I am a 38 year old man from Barrie Ontario. I have had a weight problem since my teens. My greatest accomplishment in this world is that I am the father of 3 girls. My Story I was over-weight for most of my life. My wife and I enabled each other to get way out of control. I had acquired Type 2 diabetes and was losing control. I had considered WLS for several years but my wife was hesitant. She worried about the safety and about me wanting to leave for someone else when I lost the weight. My health began to decline and I realized that I had to do something NOW! I sat my wife down and explained that I was going forward with this with or without her support. I booked a consult with the Barix Clinic in MI. Once we met with Dr. Kam my wife came on side. I applied and received my Out Of Country approval from OHIP and booked my surgery. April 11, 2007 was to be my rebirth! Like a phoenix rising from the ashes. All went very well with my surgery. I have been losing weight at a great rate but have experienced much more emotional issues that I could have ever expected!
