Alan Posner, M.D., F.A.C.S.
So far so good... I like his style, his straight-forwardness, no pussy-footing around... tells the risks out right, and you follow his program or you leave. I really like the fact that he listened to my questions and answered them in a way I understood without talking down to me; and he asked me if I had any more questions for him... WOW!rnrnDr Posner in Buffalo at Buffalo General Hospital is about the best thing that has ever happened to me! Had my WLS on Tuesday May 8th and was released on Thursday......all the staff who looked after me were the best!!!!! And I mean everyone, from the housekeeping lady who came in to empty the garbage pail to the Drs...eveyone asked me if I was ok, did I need anything, would I like to see a nurse...etc etc.rnrnI'm impressed. Very impressed with the \"perfect\" WLS surgery I had in Dr Posner's hands to the followup he did during rounds to the greatest nursing team ever! rnrnOh, and canucks. If you're doing your \"due diligence\" and searching for a Dr for the WLS, then please do consider Dr Posner. OHIP works with them, and they're the ones I chose and I'm so ever happy that I did!rnrnThanks once again Dr Posner! Your skilll has given me back my life! WooHoo... I'm on my way!

2010... I remember the coming of 2000 like it was yesterday!!

Happy New Year!!!!

ok - I need grounding... and I admitted to my BF last night of this issue and asked him to support me on this... so I admit to you all as well and hope that you will learn from my mistake...

I have GAINED 7 pounds!!!  eek!!!  I know it began with my illness in September... I was quite nauseaous a lot (still am at times - it is the medication) and I had to stay hydrated... so I turned to SODA POP... actually dreaded rootbeer - not sugar-free, not diet, but the real sugary stuff (nope, no dumping)... and for the past 4 months I have had huge amounts of it!  I am still fitting in my size 18s, but my muffin top is a bit bigger and the scale is UP... and I *KNOW* this is the culprit, and I have enabled it by giving into the craving... but as of last night I am bucking up... NO MORE.... back to walking and volleyball, and "back to basics" - in fact breakfast is a protein shake for me today... the 7 will drop, this I know... I gotta use my tool like I should be!

Also... received this info this morning from Sue...

2010 Monica Ganz 4th Annual 'Make it a Lifestyle' Seminar

Hi Folks,
Monica will be coming to Canada on Sat. August 14th, so mark your calendars,  for this awesome seminar.

Again, we will be holding it at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Ingersoll, Ontario.

Registration at 8:30 am. Seminar runs from 9 am. to 5 pm.

I will post more information and cost later.

Last year the cost was .00 per person, [Canadian funds] with a Potluck lunch served. Some people had mentioned, why not, charge an extra .00 per person and supply lunch, [any input on this, from those who will be returning again this year for this seminar??]

For those who want to reserve a spot, you can e-mail me, and I will add your name to the list.

About the Seminar, Dr. Ganz, is a behaviourist, from California, who had WLS surgery, about 8 years ago, and lost around 340 lbs.!!!! and has maintained it ever since then. She gave up her private practice, and now travels the world putting on seminars, 'Make it a Lifestyle' for people who want to live a healthier life.

I meet her on a cruise, in 2006, when she was a guest speaker, for an on-board seminar for WLS people.

She is an amazing gentle woman, who has so much information to share for those want and/or have had, this life saving surgery. We have all read and been told, the 'pouch' is only a tool, that they operated on our stomachs and not our heads. This seminar teaches us ways, to stay successful for the rest of our lifes.

Take care, Sue
