Surgeon TestimonialDaryl A. Stewart, M.D.I have been very pleased with my experience with Dr. Stewart and his staff. Dr. Stewart is very informative and I like his policies. He doesn't have you do a preop liquid diet or bowel prep. For postop, he moves you along to real food very quickly. His aftercare program is excellent and Leah is a valuable asset to the program. She is available to the patient at all times for any and all questions or concerns. She took care of filing the insurance paperwork and is a licensed nutritionist as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Stewart.

I am 39 years old and have been overweight since elementary school age. My BMI is 45 and I have type 2 Diabetes. I have been looking into bariatric surgery and as long as my insurance will cover it, I want to have the surgery. My highest weight is 254 and I am 5'3" tall.

I need to update more often but I don't have much to report. I am holding at 162 right now. I really need to get my head back in the game to get these last 20-25 lbs off. I am working out but not consistently. At least 3 times a week but I know I can do more. I need to get my eating back under control. If I can conquer those 2 things I know I can get the scale moving again. I would really like to be at goal for my one year anniversary in 2 1/2 months. It's doable if I work really hard.

I guess it's been a while since I updated. The weightloss has slowed significantly. I was at 163.5 this morning. I have not been eating the best for the last few weeks but I have increased my excercise. I joined the fitness center here at work and have continued to do my walking when it isn't too hot. I know if I can get my eating back in control I will be able to pick up the pace of the loss again. I am working on it.
I had my birthday last month. I am 40 years old now but I feel better than I have in years. I am still in a size 12 but can see a 10 in my near future. If it weren't for the hanging skin on my belly, I would probably already be in an 8 but can't do anything about that yet.

I am now just overweight!! yee haw !!
I hit 169 which at 5'3" is a BMI of 29.9. I wanted to hit this for my 6 month surgiversary but 5 days late is okay with me. I had my 6 month check with my surgeon on June 1st and everything checked out good. All of my labs came back perfect except for the B12. It was on the sheet to run but the lab missed it. I have to go back in for a blood draw to get it checked. I will do that this week and then just call the doctor to make sure it is okay.

Well, here is is, 6 months out. I didn't quite make my goal. I wanted to me at 169 and only got to 170. Hey, what's one pound. I'm still happy. This has been an incredible ride so far. I really can't believe 6 months has already passed. I have lost 84 lbs total, 68.5 since surgery. I just bought some new capris over the weekend that were a size 12. Woozers, I haven't worn that size in 20 years. I am still working on the grazing thing but it's getting better. I need to up the excersise again to help speed up the losing. All in all, I am pleased with my progress and looking forward to seeing it continue. I am 30-35 lbs away from goal, so I am over half way there.

I'm coming up on 6 months and I am really pleased with my progress. This morning I weighed in at 172.5. I still have 2 weeks until my 6 month surgiversary so maybe I can make the 160's by then. That's just 2.5 lbs. I will make that my goal for 6 months, to weigh in at 169. How cool is that. I already weigh less than when I got married almost 20 years ago.
I am doing well. Temptation and excuses have been showing their ugly heads lately so I need to buckle down and get back on track. I will walk at lunch today and stop with the snacking/grazing. I really want this to work and know I have come too far to start sabotaging myself now. I am very good about taking my vitamins and supplements and I get my water/crystal light in during the week with no problem. Weekends aren't always as good but I am working on that. I know I just need to nip a few things in the bud now before they get out of hand.
