My Story

I am now 60, doesn't seem possible !  Seems like I have been on a diet all my life, some worked......while I was on them, but, the weight always came back plus more.  It took a year of "testing" and fighting with insurance, but, finally on 9/7/06 I had a lap band done !  At my last fill I had lost 28.6 # !  It isn't easy, in November I felt like a "bulimic in training", my band was over-filled and I would throw up after a couple bites, now I think they finally hit on the right amount.  I usually eat less than 1 c total for a meal, I try not to snack, but, sometimes I have to have a little something.  Exercise is difficult for me due to physical limitations....as long as I keep moving I count it as progress !!!!  The most difficult thimg for me is the changing tastes, things I liked pre-op are truly disgusting and make me nauseated, I would love a cheeseburger-----------------hamburger just doesn't work for me, it comes up as fast as it goes down so that will have to be a fond memory, friends tell me that this is just part of the "adjustments" you learn to make.
