Surgeon Testimonial

Jeffrey Lord, M.D.
Dr. Lord is an excellent choice for a Bariatric Surgeon. He knows his stuff and makes sure that his patients know their stuff as well. Every step, starting from Nutrition, insurance, to self-care and education, Dr. Lord and his staff have made an awesome job out of surgical success. I would definately recommend Dr. Lord or his associate, Dr. Freedman to anyone contemplating weight loss surgery.

I'm Home from Surgery!!
on June 21, 2007 5:36 pm
Well, it's done -yay!  I'm officially a "Loser". Other than a "fatty liver", Dr. Lord didn't seem to have any complaints or complications.  My experience was a bit odd, at least not what I expected.  The first day of surgery I felt fine.  The day after (Tuesday) I felt GREAT.  I walked over a mile down the halls and had a "rosy glow" to my cheeks.  Everyone thought I was doing great, as did I.  Later that day I went for my upper GI (which was fine) and afterwards had some water and ice chips.  Then it started -- the horrible gas pains.  Pains that rotated around my back, shoulders, chest, and upper stomach.  I walked and walked and walked to try to move it down, but with no avail.  Finally on Wednesday night I had some relief.  I'm home now, but still having some pain in my chest when I drink, therefore i'm having lots of trouble getting in my water.  I drink a few small sips, then get an intense pain between my breasts.  I'm still working on my first bottled water of the day.  I really am trying.  My mom is here for 2 weeks to help out, thank goodness.
The staff at Sacred Heart Hospital was awesome.  They really did make my stay better.  Props to Suzie, Desere, Amanda and Melissa!
Hopefully things will get easier soon and my fluids will go down easier.  I'll try to keep things updated.

One week to go!
on June 11, 2007 12:38 pm

My pre-op went wonderfully.  I had a tour of the Bariatric Wing at Sacred Heart, met with Dr. Lord's nurse, Jan, met an anestheologist, and had my pre-op appointment with Dr. Lord.  I am so impressed with how smoothly they have everything running.  They know their business, and they make sure you are well taken care of.  I start my pre-op diet in three days, and my surgery is in one week!!  Yaaahhhooooo!!!!
