Surgeon Testimonial

Thomas R Brown
I actually went into the Dr.'s office to support my younger sister. She was having hormonal problems, after many months of having medical problems, the only link that any of ALL the many Dr.'s she went to with the goal of identifying her "problem" and in search of a solution, she and I requested and studied all of her physicians notes. The only "common link" to her problem was that she was "morbidly obese". I did WLS research, obtained a Dr.'s name, scheduled a visit and went in to meet the Dr.
Dr. Browns secretary (at the time - Mary) was very helpful. My sister and I did all of the "pre-op" stuff we had to do and ended up having surgery 1 day apart. Dr. Browns office would receive a D- in the "follow-up" Depart. It took weeks and weeks of dumping and just getting sicker and sicker (never asked me to come in despite the many calls made to his office) he never asked that I come in for an apt to see him. Staff asked I come in (once) and see a med. assistant?? Who was "nice" enough, just could never "get it right" consequently, my sister did great... and I went into congenital heart failure a few months later.

Hey there everyone!  I will be 5 yrs 'post' RNY in a few weeks and I dont regret it for a moment!  I have maintained my weight between about 154-160 lbs... My sister and I had it together, unfortunately, she has gained quite a bit of weight back!   which makes me sad, you see... she is the reason why I decided to do it myself.  She was very ill due to her obesity and if it wouldn't have been for the surgery, she would no longer be with us... but, it's a very "personal" decision to maintain or not... right?  My twin sister had surgery a year after we did...and she's doing great!  I am very proud of the three of us regardless... My daughter had the lapband surgery a year ago, and although the weightloss is quite a bit slower, she looks terrific and is planning on having a TT this summer.  Hope all is well with everyone out there... Happy New Years!  Lax

Thank you so much for your good wishes. No, my sister does not have a thyroid problem... she obviously however, has "unresolved" issues. She is now working out and making an attempt once again to lose weight... I pray that she can reach her goal and continue down a "healthier"; path.

Again, thank you so much for your good wishes. God Bless you.

LOL I saw that about your daughter and thought the same thing are you really old enough to have a daughter that had surgery. Wow. It is neat when this surgery truly changes lives of family all across the board.
You really do look great. I'll keep your sister in my prayers.
