Surgeon TestimonialTodd Kellogg, M.D.I was a bit concerned about Dr. Kellogg before my surgery. Having only met him once and only a handful of people giving him reviews, I was not too sure what to expect. I am so pleased with the outcome of my surgery, I honestly say, I would not have wanted anyone else. He did such a great job, everything went smooth, no complications and I do not think I will have much for scars. I have 6 small incision sites on my belly that look like they will fade pretty fast. When he came to see me on Tuesday evening, he was very nice and answered a few questions that I had without making me feel rushed. My overall experience with him was outstanding.

Just a few more pounds and I will be overweight!! What a happy day that will be. I am so happy that I made the decision to go through with surgery. As of today I am down 86lbs. I am very happy with my results and most of all how this has completely changed my life.
In the last two months I have had two super fun vacations. Both to Florida, one with my husband and two youngest children, and the second was just me and my oldest boy. What a great time. It was very nice to be able to put on a suit and go! Even tho I am not close to my goal weight, I was much more confident in March and April than I have been in years.
Next week we are going out to Montana. I can not wait to see how easy it will be to get on the horses. I am also excited about the fact that there is work to be done there and I am looking forward to doing it!!
My life has changed so much since surgery. It has been my second chance!

I learned how to add photos tonight, how fun.
I went to coffee in North Branch tonight with a wonderful group of ladies. It was so nice to meet some WLS buddies!! I am going to do that more often.
I am very pleased with my weight loss so far, down 82 pounds!! It is amazing how different I feel today as opposed to a year ago.

It has been awhile since I have updated, I have had a rough few weeks. Three weeks ago, I had a horrible ear infection, it took from Monday until Friday for the doc to get an antibiotic to agree with me...very frustrating...was not able to take the prescribed pain meds either so that meant all week in pain.
Two weeks ago I was seen at the U of M for severe stomach pain. I was admitted, spent the night while they ran tests, ect....Sent home the next day with pain meds and no diagnosis. Three days later I went to my primary clinic, still having the pain. It is a hernia, why did they not find that at the U? On top of that, my doc thought I had a perirectal abscess...sent me to surgeon....I so sensitive in that area he had to put me under to check everything out. Finding nothing but (no pun intended) a few hemorrhoids, he cut a few open to see if there was a lot of stuff inside. There was not....but I ended up with stitches coming out of my behind and a lot more pain. Today was the first day I have started to feel better and able to function, this is a good thing as we start celebrating Christmas at our house this evening. Needless to say, I have a lot of work to do.
As for weight loss, it is fantastic. I was worried about all of the time I had to spend in bed, thought I would gain a little. To my surprise, I have lost a total of 44 pounds now!!! I am very happy with the scale and the changes I have started to notice in my body, very fun.
So, that is my reason for not updating, now I am going to sleep, I have a long day ahead of me!!

I have been feeling a bit emotional lately. My husband and I are going to Florida at the end of December for nine days.....how fun. I am so looking forward to some time away. Today the scale is at 214....I am happy with that, need to push a bit harder on working out to tone up this skin!! Sometimes I find it frustrating to try to figure out if I am on track, losing as much as I should be, ect....Maybe I need to focus on more than the scale.

Today was the first day that I went out to breakfast with my husband. This is something we did on a weekly basis before sugery. It went great!! I ordered a scrambeled egg and an order of sausage links. I at about half of the egg and half of one of the links. It was so nice to find that we can still do this, we were both kind of sad thinking that we may lose that.
Todays weight is 223. I am happy with that. I decided to go a bit farther on my walk this morning. So Kyle and I bundeled up, got the dog and started out. Everything was going fine, talking laughing, all of the sudden, I hit the ground. I do not know what happend. I just got light headed and boom, I was laying on the road, how embarrassing!!! So needless to say, the walk was over. We turned around and went home, total walking time: 15 minutes. I am very discouraged, even though I know that it is highly unlikely to happen again, it made me sad.

My Story I am 30 years old. I have been doing a lot of research about WLS over the last year...finally made the decision that this is for me in early August. I have tried many other attempts to lose the weight myself, but little if no success. I have 2 boys, 7 and 11, and I gained too much with both pregnancies. No excuse, but that is where it began. I also have a step daughter, she is actually encouraging without even knowing it. She loves to be dressed up, hair done, she is all girl. Amazing that you can see even from a little girl, look good, feel good, she is great. I am married to my best fried, Klye who has been along with me through all of the ups and downs of failed attempts. And now with me going for this, he'll be my cheerleader! I love him! I also have a dog, who is my baby. I can not wait to take walks with her without getting upset over it, or out of breath!! sarah
