Surgeon Testimonial

Myur Srikanth, M.D.
I am a post-op surgical nurse and deal with surgeons all of the time. They tend to be snooty and think they are God's gift to medicine. Dr. Srikanth is nothing like that. Each and every time I go to his office, he smiles, laughs and makes me feel as though I am the only patient he has in his office. He is kind and is there 100% for his patients. Even after surgery if there is a problem, he is right back at the hospital to check it out.
Dr. Srikanths after care is amazing. He feels it's important to have life long check-ups, lab work etc. Because of this, his lap band rate is one of the highest that I have found (in the 70%'s) in regards to lost excess weight. Additionally, even though he has done over 800 lap band procedures, he still treats each one as an individual. It's not just another surgery, but it's MY surgery and MY body. He treats it as such! He wants me to be successful almost as much as I do!
The nurse in his office is also a WLS pt. She had GBP almost 2 years ago so she knows what this struggle is like and is a great motivator for what it can look like when it's done (she is absolutely beautiful!!).
If I have to come up with a negative, it is that his office wait is way too long. i have had to wait at least 35 mintues or longer (my first appt wait was an hour and 10 minutes) past my scheduled appt time to get taken back to be seen. It's hard for me to say this is totally a negative though because he does spend so much time with me when it is my turn. I'd rather wait than be brushed off because he has to keep to his schedule.
Overall, I would without a doubt recomment Dr. S to anyone considering WLS!!

3rd fill already
on April 16, 2007 7:34 pm
Boy, how time flies when you are crazy busy.  I had my third fill today.  2.8ml in my band.  I am down 62 pounds and could not be happier.  This band is amazing and I truly do feel blessed to have been able to get it done.

I still struggle with the "head" issues but I think that will be life long.  That's okay though because I will be successful!

Have a blessed day!!

10 days out
on January 13, 2007 3:18 pm
10 days out and down 18 pounds!  Can't hardly believe it.  The gas is gone and I'm almost totally pain free.  The steri-strips are all gone except on my port site and everything looks to be healing very well.
Now...the count down to mushies!!

January 5th
on January 5, 2007 1:28 pm
Went for a trip to Costco today.  It's a toughy to remember to stand up straight as it pulls on my port site.  That is the only place that I really have any pain.  I'm very gassy as the last of the CO2 gets out of my system.  That's really fun, let me tell ya!

My biggest challenge is getting all of my fluids in (dr wants us to have 80oz a day).

Today is the Day-January 3
on January 4, 2007 6:15 pm
Had to get up at 4:45 to get to hospital by 6:00 for check in.  I am not feeling nervous really but concerned for my hubby who is about to lose his mind.  He doesn't handle medical stuff very well.  I'm excited and anxious to get going with my new life!
