Surgeon Testimonial

First met Dr. Kim at his seminar and later for pre-opt visit. My impression of him from the beginning was that he was a very caring and knowledgeable. His staff seemed to be the same. One of his staff members said that Dr. Kim was a perfectionist and I thought thats what I want. I had my surgery on 4/19 and everything went well. Dr. Kim has very good pain management plan. I was well taken care while in the hosp. I spent the night and went home the next afternoon. I was very confortable going into surgery and was very happy with the care I receivced, would highly recomend Dr. Kim if you are looking for a surgeon. He has a very good before and after care program and I will be going to the support meetings that he has once a month.

Thursday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~ JudyAnne

Surgery
on April 27, 2007 4:01 pm
 April, 2007
I got to the hosp at 7:30 and the Dr. had an emer patient and ended up having to do surgery so that caused all of his surgeries to be late but I understood. I was set for 8:45 and didn't go in till 10:45, I was clam and secure knowing I was doing the right thing. I woke up in recovery at 12:13. The only reason I know the time was because that was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. I was in some pain and felt sick to my stomach but they gave me some injections in the IV and I was fine. I stayed in recovery longer than usual waiting on a room. Got to my room around 3:30. Had to wait until 8:30 that evening to get any water. Had to be 8 hours from surgery. I stayed the night and went home the next day at 3 or so. I was up walking the halls around 5 with help and after they removed the cath. I was up all the time by myself. I had some gas pains but not a lot.
They were real good on pain management. Some pain but they kept it under control. My Dr. inserted the ON-Q system directly into the port area so that helped a lot. That lasted for 2 days and I removed it myself on Sat. evening. The moving really helped with the gas. I didn't have any gas pains after I came home. They biggest problem I have had is getting into and out of bed and the recliner. I have been on a full liquid diet and will go to mushies after 2 weeks. Was not hungry at all the first 5 days and now I am hungry but am satified after 1/2 cup to 1 cup.

My Story

March 2007,

I am 62 years young and still have a lot of life to live and want to live it in a healther body. I lost my dear husband almost 5 years ago and have really packed on the pounds since then. My current weight is 316. My highest weight ever was 329. I have always been overweight and have been on all diets and plans and have lost a lot of pounds just to gain them back along with their friends. I have 3 grown kids , 9 grandkids and 5 great-grandkids. I want to be able to get around better than I do now and not be in pain. It has taken me a year but finally have been approved for surgery.
