Surgeon Testimonial

Jeffrey Lord, M.D.
Dr Lord is an absolute blessing! My first imperession of Dr Lord was he is confident and serious. When I met with him I was delighted by his sense of humour and concern and once again his indepth knowledge. The staff is wonderful. Jan runs the office and she is an abosolute angel. Everyone was terrific. There is not anything I dislike about my surgeon. Future patients should know that you have a surgeon who is not only highly skilled but he is passionate about what he does and I believe he really does care. It is worth the travel if you must travel. Dr Lord insist upon following you for at least 5 years after surgery providing not only aftercare but also coordinates a support group monthly. Every visit with every staff member is a reiteration of the do's and don'ts for success. Dr Lord and the staff provide you with a ton of information and encourage you to do your own research as well. Dr Lord test you for everything to ensure you are mentally and physically as prepared as you can be for this life changing event. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give Dr Lord a 10. I believe both surgical competence and bedside manner are both great but if I had to choose between the two I'll take a highly skilled surgeon anyday over a medicore surgeon that has a terrific hi how are you! In spite of the 100% positve review scare, I don't have anything negative to say. I did my research.

Thursday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~ Judy

Vacation
on July 24, 2008 5:13 pm
It's finally here! VACATION time! I am so excited. We have been planning this trip for many months and all I can say is yippee. My husband and I are going to Ghana, Africa with some very dear friends of ours for 2 weeks. She is actually from Ghana and her dad still lives there. It is one of my top 5 dream trips and feel privileged to be going. I know that it will be an opporunity to rest, relax and have fun but I know that it is more than that I am looking forward to seeing what HE has in store for us all. We will take lots of pixs and I will definitley be sharing.

All things happen with purpose. God knows best and I trust Him.

I trust that all is well with your soul and that you are prospering happily in every area of your life!

YEA! My PCP said everything looked good except for my Potassium which is a little low so she is increasing me to 3 pills a day.

I sent the results to DR Q but I have not heard anything yet. My PCP added Dr Q's lab test request to hers at my request. We'll see what he thinks tomorrow I hope.

1 Year....Oh how good it is!
on June 27, 2008 3:19 pm
When God created the earth and everything afterwards He saw what he had done and He called it GOOD.
Friends, thats what I say and can describe it no better, life is now good. It has already been a year and a few days as of 06/21/08. The time has literally zipped by and I am grateful.

I will say that I have had good days and I have had bad moments. It has been my choices of food that have caused me bad moments. Not the WLS but my food choices that have caused me grief. Some was part of the learning process...learning how much to eat, what I can or can't eat, or how fast I eat. You know it is a process. WLS is great!

I float between 124-125lbs. I am still losing inches. I am still exercising and strength training. Daily I take 1 B12, 2 multi vitamins, 1 iron pill, calcium, potassium, biotin and a protein supplement (protein slam from GNC). The hair loss has pretty much stopped.

I had not shared my WLS with anyone outside the WLS family and my immediate family until today. One of the gals who works for me came to discuss her need for time off to have WLS and after speaking with her I could not help but reveal that I had the surgery and to encourage her. I regretted it after because people talk to much some time....but whatever. Someone might get their feelings hurt. I just don't think that I need the opinion of every idiot on the planet...especially of those who have not walked in my shoes. (The man with an argument is at the mercy of the man with an experience) For this reason I choose not to share....but do what works for you! I'm sure it will be fine.

WLS is a keeper. Choose wisely...it works if you work it.

Blessings...............

Storms may come but they don't last always!
on June 14, 2008 4:34 am
For everyone, like me, going through a storm. Hurting, disappointed, frustrated and tired. HE sees and HE knows. Trust Him, I am. If Jesus could continue to love Judas and even send him (Judas) to go and betray Him at the last supper surely we can endure these 'light afflictions'. We have the victory ya'll. We do have the victory!!

My Story

I am 45 years old and have been overweight since the birth of my son 24 years ago. I have tried everything from low fat, high protein, Myrtle Beach diet, phentermine, 3 day diet (heart health), doctor supervised, slim-fast...blah, blah, blah. None of the diets were long term. I need a radical change and I am ready. I have a family history of numerous health problems and I will not expire my life (early) like they did.

I have a wonderful son who is 24 and I will be healthy for him and for the grandchildren he will have some day. I will have energy so that I can enjoy life. I am sooo greatful for this opportunity and it is my last chance, I WILL not blow it.

God has been good to me and this whole process of getting here has been hard but I believe in providence and I know that I am blessed. Yea God!

My best friend, Edna and I went to a WLS seminar held at Sacred Heart Hospital on 02/14/07 and I could not thank her more for inviting me.

On 02/16/07 I saw my PCM and requested the referral for WLS. Being concerned about the high blood pressure he wants me to see a a kidney specialist first but agreed that WLS is a good option.

05-25-07 I am so excited! I have my approval from Tricare and my surgery date is set for 06-21-07. I love the staff at the hospital (Sacred Heart Pensacola FL) and my surgeon is a blessing from God. I am almost there. Less than a month. Yea!
