My into is short and sweet.  I am an insulin dependant diabetic.  I have many health problems as many of you do.  My decision to go through Gastric Bypass was not an easy one, but a necessary one.  I want to live to see my youngest son graduate from high school and be able to walk into the gymnasium and sit in a regular seat instead of the handicap section.  I want to be able to one day hold and play with my grandchildren.  There are many things I still would like to accomplish.  To do that I need to have this surgery to live!

My year anniversary is coming up on August 21st!

My journey has been one of many variables but God has blessed me to lose 121 lbs. my first year after gastric bypass.  I have lost 165 lbs total!  I feel like a new person!  I have been able to do so many more things and celebrate even the smallest accomplishments like being able to buckle a seat belt and being able to sit in a theatre seat, just to name a couple.  I am so glad I made the decision to go through with the bypass.  The greatest thing is that I do not take insulin, blood pressure meds or any other medications now!  My purse is celebrating too! LOL!  I just want to be an encouragement to each of you to keep going even though the road get hard sometimes, it is WORTH IT!
