Surgeon Testimonial

Robert McKeen
Dr. Mc Keen is an extremely handsome man that's why I chose him. LOL His online picture does nothing for him, must see in person.rnrnDr. McKeen is thorough and completely takes his time to inform you of the benefits and risks involved with this type of surgery. One's initial consult with Dr. Mc Keen is well over one hour. He takes the time to answer all questions and listens intently to all one's concerns. rnrnHis office staff is extremely professional and down to Earth, no pretentions.rnrnHe does encourage his patients to attend regular support group meetings at the hospital.rnrnHe visited with me daily sometimes twice during my three day hospital stay.rnrnHis concern was primarily related to whether the hospital nursing staff were treating me well, which they were. This hospital appears to be new in working with baritric patients. As I was discharged they sent a child's wheelchair to pick me up! Needless to say I stuffed my big self in their and requested a much larger one. rnrnHe rates high in my book.rn

I suffer from PCOS and have for years taken a myriad of medications to suppress and/or control several symptoms related to PCOS. Following is a list that my PCP/Endocrinologist prescribed over the years to help with PCOS: Glucophage, Aldactone, BCP, Avandia which made me gain weight, Actos, Lexapro and Byetta.  I'm sure there were others, but just unable to remember at this time.

Approved Immediately! Blue Cross PPO
on October 8, 2007 8:46 pm
My first appointment/consult with Dr. Mc Keen was on August 1, 2007. He submitted the necessary paperwork and I was approved for the surgery.  Initially my surgery was scheduled as early as September 5, 2007, but to be fair to my employer, I needed to give adequate notice of my leave, since I planned to be away for at least six weeks.

Marina Bensonover bariatric nurse/coordinator with CA Blue Cross called to ensure my follow-through with all the necessary steps needed for complete and thorough pre-surgery examinations.

My life as I know it began on Tuesday, September 25, 2007.  This is the day that I will forever be a changed woman.
