Dr. Loggins and his team are the best group of providers anyone could ask for. I am so glad I chose that team to perform my surgery.
They are the BEST.

1st Thanksgiving Post Op
on November 27, 2008 5:40 pm
Today was my first Thanksgiving 11 weeks post op.

I must say it went extremely well.

We went to my husbands aunt and uncles. There was more than 30 of us there. I think there was more food than there is at the grocery store.

I did well. I had mostly turkey. It was moist and I was able to digest it. I had a few sliced carrots, a few peas and a little scoop of squash. The squash was yummy!!!

I hope everyone else did great today.

Happy Thanksgiving 2008

2 months out
on November 6, 2008 5:28 pm
I went to see the wonderful staff at Dr. Loggins office today for my 2 month check up. I LOVE them all. I got to see Michael first, Crystal and Dr. Loggins came in about the same time and I saw Corrine.

I am happy to announce I have lost 40 pounds according to their scale and 43 according to mine. I was measured yesterday at the gym. Since the beginning of September, I not only have lost 40 plus pounds, but have taken off 18.25 inches off my body.

What a great feeling.

I have been having a bad week this week. I am addicted to the scale. I weigh every morning. The scale has not moved for me since Saturday. I feel like I am doing something wrong, but I am reassured by all I am just having one of those weeks. Boy, I hope this week gets over soon.

My blood work came back okay accept for my protein level. I am not getting enough protein. I consume about 60 grams on a daily basis but apparently that is not enough for me.

Officially exactly 1 month post op
on October 8, 2008 7:52 pm
I had my surgery on September 08th and I decided to go into Dr. Loggins office today on October 08th to see exactly what my weight loss was for the 1st month post op.

Guess whattttttttt  ,,,,,,, it was 28 pounds. I cannot believe 28 pounds has left my body forever in only 1 month.

I am so excited to see what the next month brings....

Have a great day..

personal trainer
on October 1, 2008 5:52 pm
Well here I am, I went back to see Michelle my personal trainer today. She took it easy on me but I still had a workout.

Michelle weighed me today, I have lost 26 pounds -- yes count them -- 26 pounds since I was there right before my surgery. My rings are beginning to be extremely loose and my bracelet my husband got for me for Christmas is getting too big. I cannot believe the words "too big" are coming out of my mouth.

As you can tell, I am having a good week this week. I am off my antibiotics and feeling good.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Michelle (my trainer) also sells a line of food items at the gym. She gave me some protein drinks to try. The drinks come in a plastic bottle with the powder in them and all you have to do is add 8 ounces of water, shake it up and sip away. I tried one today, it was wonderful. Kudos to Michelle, I am going to get a few of them to incorporate in my new way of eating.

All for now... Talk again soon..

Hope all is going well with everyone..

Sherri :)

22 pounds gone forever!!!
on September 28, 2008 4:46 pm

Once again I am sorry I have not posted in a while. It has been quite a ride.

The antibiotic I was prescribed for the C-diff ended up making my new little belly inflammed and I could not pass anything into my intestines. I was hospitalized again on Thursday the 18th for the night. I was placed on IV's to try to help my new belly calm down and it worked. I went back for another swallow study Friday morning the 19th and all was moving well. Thank god!!!! I stayed the remainder of the day in the hospital with my IV's and was discharges late in the evening on Friday night.

I went on Friday the 26th back to Dr. Loggins so he could make sure all was well. I am happy to say I have lost 22 pounds since my surgery. I am also happy to say I am never going to find those 22 pounds I lost again.

Today, I participated in the American Heart Walk in Lewiston. It was raining outside. Yuck!!!  I only did the mile walk but that was enough for me in the rain.

Thank you for everyone who checked on me and called. Words cannot express how appreciative I am for all of you.

Talk again soon.

Sherri
