My Story

Well, my story is like so many others. I have been overwieght since 4th grade. I was always able to handle it when I was younger but I have come to realize how much life I am missing out on. I have 3 young children and they desserve to have a dad thatcan ride bikes and play baseball with them. I have a family history of heart trouble (all the men on my dads side have died of heart attacks), and family history of diabetes. I originally started thinking about WLS 2 years ago when my weight started hindering my career. That was not a good enough reason for me to have surgery. But, after learning of my family history, I find myself thinking about my health more and more. I have had my consultation with Dr. Katz already and now have to be on a 6 month supervised diet. I am frustrated already because it took me so long to make the decision to have WLS and now find out that I have to wait 6 more months. But, I am SO ready for this so I am determined to do what I have to do.
