Amazing Differences
on March 23, 2011 5:51 am
I know it's been a while since I was on last but I have been busy learning about my new changes in my body. My surgery went wonderful. I was up walking within hours of surgery. I have been healing really fast and am amazed with the differences happening. As of my last check up I was down 60lbs already It is still quite a shock to me. I have never lost that much weight ever. I am starting my soft food diet and everything is going really well with introducing all the new things in my diet. I am walking to keep me motivated and exercised, as soon as I heal totally I will be starting to attend the YMCA. My boys and are looking forward to it. I hope my road stays steady as it is now.

The Count down is on again........
on February 6, 2011 6:51 pm
I was due to have my RNY on the 4th of Feruary and was so ready....Due to being on a medication the Dr did not feel 100% on doing the surgery. I was right out the operating room doors, had the IV in and everything. I am happy he is so thorough but it would have been better if someone would have mentioned that to me when I went for my pre op appointment on the 31st. So I went there the night before and rented a room with my sister and her husband. Got up and was at the hospital by 6:30am. My surgery was booked for 8am. By the time she got back to the room I was calling her to come back and pick me up. I was very upset because I worked so hard to get to that point. We decided to stay another night because it was after check out time and toured the city. I think it was my sister's way of trying to take my mind off being so upset. So needless to say I am still on the opti fast until my surgery date on the 28th. Feeling a little disappointed but trying to stay focused and positive.

Day 17
on January 30, 2011 9:10 pm
Today is day  17 of my Opti Fast diet.... I thought it was going to be really difficult to make it this far feeling this good. I was in to see my family Dr on Friday and have dropped 36.5 lbs. I have my surgery on Friday the 4th and I am so ready.  Tomorrow I go for my pre op appointment. I am counting down the days and am feeling very confident about the whole experience. I have such amazing people around me with the best support anyone could ever want, and I am very thankful.

Second Time is a Charm
on January 5, 2011 9:06 pm
Today I took the journey Back to Ottawa to take yet another class they had asked me too. Turns out it's the same one I already did. Not a problem but almost felt I was set on pause. I did notice they were really pushing the optifast....Is it really that necessary  to have to take the stuff or can you go on a regular liquid diet? Hmmm? I almost felt they were pushing it because they make a profit from the company, I know a few people that had it done and did not do the optifast and they did fine on their own, on liquid only. It is pretty expensive and if I have to go that route I will do what I have to. I guess it is a question to ask the doctor when I go all the way back to Ottawa to see him on Tuesday. We will see....

More Informed
on June 26, 2010 8:24 pm
I went to my appointment in Ottawa yesterday the 25th and felt like I got a lot of usful information. They gave us some booklets that will be very helpful and easy to understand. Now I am just waitng for a date to go to Utica to meet the surgeon. Can't wait! Very excited and yet very relieved all at the same time. I can picture myself being very successful on my new journey. Now I better get my butt in gear and get a passport in order so when the time comes I am prepared.
