3 week post op update

well tomarrow is my 3 week post op.  I went to the doctor yesterday and i have lost a total of 44.7 lbs. the dietician said i need to eat more and get more protein in but it is really hard when nothing looks,tastes or sounds good.  Is this normal anytime i eat i get a rumbly stomach and gas bad smelly gas anyone have some suggestions or advice of what to try to eat or drink that will help me not feel so ickey, and gassy,  I got the ok to go to regular foods as tolerated, please reply with any advice or suggestion I will really appreciate it

i am home from the hospital

hi there all got home on saturday from having my ds.  How long does this aweful pain in my chest like heartburn last.,  everytime i try to sip it hurts.  any suggestions or support for me i will take everything i can get.,

surgery date rescheduled.

Hi there just got word that Dr. Ikromuddin will be leaving the state Oct. 1st so we needed to reschedule my surgery for Oct. 6th. Kind of bummed about this but it is only 5 days more to wait than before.  I am so excited and scared all together.  I just want to get this done and move on with my new life!!!

        Well it has happened I was approved to have a DS on Friday October 1st.  I think it is starting to feel real.  I have my pro-op class on Sept. 2nd at Abbot, and hopefully by then I will have reached or be close to my required weight loss, I still need to loose 5 lbs.  I can't believe it I am going to have the chance to make my life a lot more healthier and happier by loosing this weight and keeping it off for the rest of my life.

My Story

Hi my name is Margie I am 37yrs old, happily married to my highschool sweetheart.  We have two children our son is 12 and our daughter is 9.  I struggle extremely with my obesity, I am currently in the process of having a DS at Abbot Northwestern Hospital tenatively on Oct. 15th!!! ( if everything goes as expected)  I have already met my surgeon Dr. Ikromuddin and had my dietician appt. I had my psyc. appt. and have my last one on July 27th.  Things seem to be going quite well through this whole process.  I am currently 283# I need to loose a total of 15 lbs by October, so I have 9 more pounds to loose till I hit my pre-op weight!!!
