Starting to feel it.. ;-)
on September 20, 2010 10:32 am
I am starting to feel the weight loss in my clothes now.. And LOVING it!!!!
I put my favourite jeans on and they look pretty sloppy WOOT!!!
I am eating normal foods and not having any issues, just my lack of discipline of not
getting all my calcium in. Only cuz the liquid is so gross!!
I am feeling totally normal, I feel comfortable about going to a restaurant, although I
have not done that yet..
My mission this week is to pack all of my summer clothes and GIVE them away because I
won't be needing them next year.. OMG I just love that reality...
Keep Smiling everyone!!

Feeling Goooood
on September 13, 2010 7:32 pm

I am soooo glad the surgery and liquid stage is all behind me...
I am one of the lucky ones, I have not had any problems, no vomiting, no pains...(well maybe a couple) not too many foods that my pouch won't tolerate..
I am so excited that the scale keeps going down, and the food I have missed "chewing" is so wonderful to eat...
I absoulely LOVE the fact that I am enjoying foods again, amd not pigging out on them...
Phew.. Is this what it is like to eat normally??? I Can do it....

It`s over, in recovery now
on August 19, 2010 1:53 pm
Well it is all over now, and I`m feeling pretty good.
I am day three into recovery and am on full fluids now which is nice.
Although I do wish I knew more about the amount of gas they pumped into my belly and how uncomfortable that was going to be, I think I had more pain pills for that pain than the actual surgery, the gas also made my back ache in between my shoulderblades. I had a shower today and that was absoulely exhausting. (pain pill)
Tommorow I am going to the hotel for a couple of days because I live so far from the hospital. Fingers crossed all goes well. I have been tolerating all the foods so far,and it`s true you need to plan to eat for about an hour and a half, things will get cold and you will need to reheat them.  I do need my fibre but I left it at home, not good..

Fiber a GOOD thing
on August 13, 2010 11:19 pm
After almost two weeks of drinking Optifast shakes, I learned after the 3rd day I NEED fiber.
I am a regular BM kinda person, but because there is no fiber in the shakes you should add some.
I found a great one Benefiber it is water soulable and has no flavour. I just can`t understand how this
powdery stuff helps SOOO immensley.... Fiber to me means grains, vegetables, etc. not white powder.
3 more days at home... then 6am tues morning I am at hospital.
Please think positive thoughts to all going into surgery...
Thank-you

My Story

Hello everyone,
My name is Tina and I am 2 weeks pre-op... And sooooo excited my surgery date is set for August 17, 2010, the day my life will change. I am 36 years old and my last weight at the clinic was 292.2lbs.. This is the biggest I have ever been.
Like everyone else I have tried everything... till now.
I have 3 boys and a husband, I'm out numbered..lol anyhow I am so ready to start living life..
I AM READY!!!! I am currently on the optifast shake program only day one so no complaints yet. can't wait to see how much I lose on the shakes.
I do have one concern and that is the "mourning" of food.
I am already doing it, I do know that I will be able to eat again but I can't change the way my brain thinks.
