Day 6 and it was horrible
on September 14, 2010 7:47 pm
My appeal was denied for surgery. What a horrible day.  Having the rug pulled out from under me was just more than i could handle today.  According to the insurance company I have to request a State Hearing, I have to have my pcp Delyte write a new letter and provide more documents etc.  Such a load of doo doo.  Just love these health insurance companies.  Now i get to wait again and start all over.  I expected from the get go that I would have to fight with the insurance company but when i got the phn call saying I was approved and surgery was scheduled i was elated.  Oh well guess i better stop whining and move on :)

Day 5 of liquid diet
on September 12, 2010 5:19 pm
I have made it to day 5, hope its not in vain.  I have done very well.  My sugar has dropped several times and have been tyring to adjust my levels.  I did break the rules today and had some grean beans, a little garden salad and a slice or pork roast.  I dont really feel to guilty as according to a pre-op diet info i received from the Ctwd dietician it said you could have one regular meal a day as long as it was veggies and protein and no carbs.

Day 3 of liquid diet
on September 10, 2010 7:20 pm
Have been doing just awesome and just really feeling great about everything, then tonite after work (friday) i get a letter from my insurance company saying that they have denied my surgery.  No way can you believe this.  I get a call from my health advocate on Aug 30th saying everything looks good and not in stone but that the insurance company is going to approve me.  She said once it is approved my Dr office will call me for a schedule.  The Dr.s office calls me Aug 31 and sets me up with a surgery date.  I am just freaking out, here I am on my liquid diet, its the weekend and I cannot call anybody to see whats going on.  Ofcourse I am depressed and want to now go and eat something bad just to make myself feel good.  Its going to be a long weekend.  I posted a message and several people have told me to keep up with the diet and it should be fine.  Lets hope so.

Got approved and have a date
on September 2, 2010 10:10 pm
My first day on this site.  I have enjoyed reading about everyones success and stories.  I got my insurance approval and boom bata bing, I am scheduled for surgery Sept 22.  It has been a 9 month journey and it is finally going to happen.  I start my liquid diet Sept 8th.  I would appreciste any advice or tips anyone wants to share with me. Kinda worried about being able to survive.  I know that I want this and am bound and determined to succeed.
