My Story

My name is Ángeles and I am from Spain (Sevilla) and I love Florida :) I have been on this site so many hours! I have so much to say but my English is not good and I feel embarrassed. I have finally decided to begin the WLS process after more than 10 years of trying to lose weight through a myriad of diets. For years I have told myself that I was ok with the state of my life and every Monday would be the beginning of a new diet, which would fail by Wednesday. I convinced myself that my appearance would not get in the way of leading a full and productive life, but my excess weight has not only taken a toll on my self-esteem but it has also exacerbated weight related health issues.
About 6 month ago I decided I needed to get healthy. Now I'm just tired of taking medications to control my diabetes and high cholesterol. I'm hoping that, as well as looking and feeling better, that I can achieve and maintain a healthier life. I began to fix my mind and realized I needed help to fix my body. I weigh 250 lbs but 1 year ago I was 292 I lost some weigh but I was not happy it all because I am not feeling motivate and with sooooo poor energy. I went to a doctor (Dr Mason) and he was really nice, he listen to me and he saw my medical record and notice I am been trying to lose weight forever. I mentioned the gastric bypass surgery and he put a referral. (Dr Lord) Now I am excited to meet Dr Lord and see what happen after the first visit.
