Surgeon Testimonial Bruno Dillimans, MD, FACS I decided to travel abroad to have surgery in Belgium. i was quite nervous about the operation and everything until I met Dr Dillemans in person. I immediately felt safe and comfortable knowing that he would do my surgery. Everything went exeedingly well and I was on pain medication for less than 36 hours. His bedside manners are as good as can be ad he came visit every day I was hospitalized to check up on progress. His office staff as well as the nurses were all very friendly and always helpful. I would not be able to pick which is better his surgical competence or his bedside manner. His surgical competence is just out of the question and his bedside manner is great as well. I am very very happy that Dr. Dillemans is my surgeon. Member Interests

Hi alltogether, my name is Laura and I am a 21 Year old South African bred young woman living in Germany. I have had lap RNY on October 3rd, 2007. So I am now on the loosers bench and everything is going well so far. My whole weight loss experience has been great up till now and I hope things will continue to run smoothly.
My Story The surgery...... I must admit I was scared when I got in my car to ride to Brugges in Belgium where my surgery was to take place, but that was only 'til I met my surgeon. The Moment he enterd the room and introduced himself to us I was feeling safe and well cared for. I had done a lot of research about him hearing only the best of things about him. I therefore wasn't very suprised to find a very charismatic young man with kind eyes explaining the surgery one more time. He talked to us for about an hour and answered all questions patiently. The night before surgery was a bit restless anyway. All these months I had been awaiting this moments and everyhing was about to take place. Until this moment I feared something was gonna go wrong that would make it impossible for me to have surgery. Well, as you see all my anxiety has been pointless.......I made it. The next morning we left early to go to the hospital..... A nurse broad me up to my room and we went over my bllod work together which came back perfectly fine. I changed into a pair of trainers and put the sexy decompression stockings on. Things were becoming serious I figured. I then got taken down to the waiting room ext to the OR where I fell asleep right away (I was just soo relaxed). I got woken up softly by my surgeon shortafter and transferred to the operating table......The lovely thing was the fact that the male nurse that was to help me over onto the O-table was probably was the hottest guy in the whole hospital, and I was half naked with a white hairnet and grannys stockings.........Humiliating? Way worse *grin* They then put me under general anethesia and the next thing I kno is soeone asking me if I am in any pain..... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Of course I am. The injection he gave me put me right back to sleep. I could handle that...... The next time I woke up the pain was manageable but the cold wasn't. All my muscles went into spasm which in turn made me hurt quit. Well that faded aswell and after an hour in the wake-up room I was taken back up to my hospital room. The first night was quite uncomfortabe, especially because the paracetamol soothed the stomach pains but not the gas pains that was killing my shoulders. Well the night passed and the most friendly nurses tried to make everything as pleasant as possible. My surgeon came in at least once a day to see how I was doing. In the evening, one day after surgery, my hand started swelling up and the drip needed to come out. That meant no more painmedication for me but to be honest ...I was fine. One day after surgery and I am free of pain.....wonderful. The next day I was up and about already...surprising everyone on my floor and myself. 4 days after surgery I was almost back to normal, being able to sleep on my side and moving painlessly. I wanna say that I wish everyone a surgeon like mine who really takes a personal interest in his patients. This sirgery should be ranted to a lot more peolpe and my heart goes out to all of you who have to fight your insurance.
