Well I am a native Californian, that has bee overweight all of my life. I have tried various weight loss programs, and I feel that it time to have surgery, and really change my life for the better. I am dedicated to my health, and living a long life. I have always been the happy, nice, fat girl, and now I am looking forward to just being called by my first name. :)

Surgery Date Confirmed

Well I got the call on 8/30, that my surgery would be on 9/25. I am soo excited, and a bit nervous, as I have never had surgery, and the thought of being put to sleep scares me, but I know that my doctor is amazing, and that this is for the best!

Got Insurance Approval Letter Today!

Wow... that was fast! Just like that, I'm approved and waiting to hear about a surgery date. Im sooo excited to begin this new journey!

Consultation With Dr. Jossart

Well, Friday, August 10, 2012 I had my consultation with Dr. Jossart. His whole team was very kind, and he explained the VSG procedure to me. It was very clear, and I am very excited to receive a surgery date! I am also loking forward to attaending his support group lateron this month.

My Story

Well my struggle with my weight began after a trip to visit my grandmother in Alabama when I was 5. I came home 20 lbs heavier, and have been overweight ever since. I was aways one of the heavier girls in my class growing up, but I was never teased, I was always very shy, and internalized most of my feelings. I did very well in high school, but missed out on my Junior and Senior Prom, because of my weight, and lack of a date. That bothered me a little, but I quickly got over that, because of my excitement about attending college. As I entered my senior year in colege I realized how large I was, and that I wanted to live a healthier life. I entered into my first weight loss program and lost 70 lbs on my own. It was a great feeling, even though I did not reach my goal weight. Slowly over the years I tried several more programs, and the weight wouldnt stay off. I am now 34, and realizing that I want a lifetime change, and that VSG is this best choice for me. So here I am, awaiting approval from my insurance company. And looking forward to the best years of my life that are still to come!
