Surgeon Testimonial

Nestor F. de La Cruz - Munoz
I met my Dr at one of his seminars. He seemed very smart, honest and down to earth. When I had my first visit with him he was very polite, informative and he had a very positive attitude.
From the staff I noted that when you call the office you get a real person to answer the phone and not an answering machine, for me this is a BIG PLUS. Also they will answer your questions on the spot.
I have no dislikes for my Dr if I did, I would have gone elsewere. As a matter of fact he was the third gastric bp Dr I visited in person after their presentation seminars.
The day of my surgery he instructed me regarding diet and activity levels.
During my first visit,he wasvery attentive and noticed my motivation was a little low and recommended for me to join the support group.
The risks of the surgery were covered in the seminar and also in the first consultation.
I have had nothing but positive experiences with my Dr, that is why I rate him a 10.

My Story

My heaviest was 307pouns at age 34. I remembered being skinny because I gained so much weight only after giving birth to my child. I was very lonely at that time, not to mention depressed. My pregnancy was a desaster I went from 155 to 130 during the first three months, then when I finally could eat I really started eating! so I ended up a fabulos 188 after giving birth. This was 1991 and ever since I just kept going up...

tried exercising dieting pills fasting and in the rollercoaster I ended up 14 years later and 304 pounds. In 2003 My good friend from work had the gastric bypass, and I thought nhaaa this woun't work! But I was witness to her involvment, her dedication and her faith. I saw her transform! She was healthy! I thought I want that!

So my quest for insurance approval began Aetna denied me because They wanted nutrisional support for at least 6 months, I was not ready to do that I was upset with the world, I wasn't ready. So the next year I switch to cigna and they wanted the same, so I was very brave and I decided I can do this, I made arrangements with my physitian to monitor my weight and "receive nutritional support"

I was very serious by this time, I actually met a nutritionalist later on and I learned a few things...

Finally in july of 2005 the 11th I had my surgery, for me once and for all I hope it's just going back to normal I can see my face in the mirror again! and I don't look away, sometimes I even smile....
