Surgeon Testimonial

Thomas Clark
After meeting with Dr. Clark and additional members of staff today I am so happy to part of such a wonderful team! I finally got my surgery date--Sept 20th--and everyone was so pleasant and patient during the process. I have all my appointments scheduled all the way until November! I am ready to begin my new life and, as Dr. Clark would say, "make it a healthy one"!

I never thought my Thanksgiving would start off like...
on November 24, 2011 7:23 am
I so never thought my Thanksgiving would start out like this! I was determined to start the day off early trying to get in at least half of my protein. So, I made a protein coffee--three cups of decaf/caffeinated coffee w/ 1 tbsp of sugar free french vanilla coffee mate and two scoops of protein chocolate powder.

Before I could finish more than a few sips of coffee, I had to release my new exercise side and start working out. What was meant to be about a 30 minute routine ended in an 1 1/2 hour workout! I have more steps on my pedometer in this short time than I mostly get on an average day!

I am so thrilled because not only have I worked out a combined 5 hours this week, and it is only Thursday, but I have increased my activity steadily! My eating is clean and on point so I expect major moves in the scale in this next month!

I am so thrilled with this surgery and I thank God every day for my new life! Having Thanksgiving w/the family this year will be different. One of my new discoveries is that I am able to have a regular seat at the family table! Years ago my grandparents bought this table set w/high chairs and I was never able to sit at the table because I was too heavy and the chairs were too high. Losing the first 40 lbs made the chairs accessible. Now, 51+ lbs less two months later, I am perfectly comfortable sitting in the chair and I don't have to worry about breakage.

What a difference a major weight loss can make and I'm just starting! Seasons' Greetings everyone!

A Reward for my new life!!!
on November 13, 2011 5:55 am
I did it and I am so proud of myself! I went by myself to a comedy event. The event took place at a 9520-seat (219330 square feet) multi- purpose arena 30 minutes from my house. In the past I have had to take breaks walking because I would get out of breath. So here are the bonuses almost 8 weeks after VSG:

1) I never had to stop walking or take a break because I was out of breath.

2) I never sweated profusely although I pretty much walked around the whole arena to find my seat.

3) I resisted the buttered popcorn, peanuts, soda, nachos, french fries, chicken nuggets, Papa John's pizza, hotdogs, cotton candy, lemonade, alcohol and snow cones that the event sold.

4) I was able to sit in stadium sitting and although it was somewhat uncomfortable there is no way I could have sat in that seat without this amount of weight loss. (It definitely won't be uncomfortable the next time I come back!)

5) Most importantly, I went BY MYSELF! Although it looked as if I was the only single one there, I felt no shame. I have the right to enjoy myself whether single or fat!

I love just the preview of my new life and never thought that I would reach my initial goals and benefits of VSG so quickly! This is one of the best decisions I have made and I can't wait to see what is in store!
