Surgeon Testimonial

Larry Hobson
Dr. Hobson is The Man! He was somewhat quiet, but a quick talker. He was kind of laid-back too. Confident and caring. My liver was big but he completed my surgery with no complications. I appreciate his bedside manner.rnrnrnrnrnrn

Easy way out?
on June 22, 2008 8:37 pm

I know a few critics of WLS will say that this is the easy way to lose weight.  However, those of us that have had the surgery KNOW it is not the "easy way".  I like to think of it as a jump start to fitness.  Through the surgery, I've managed to lose weight (and keep it off)that I'd not been able to do on my own for many years of trying and failing and trying and failing...heck, we've all lived that played out saga.  Right?

I'm grateful for my surgery.  It's allowed me to reclaim myself.  I can move again.  Thank you Jesus for that!

I had opportunity to try it out when I went on vacation to Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago.  I was able to walk through the airport unassisted.  Which is totally unlike the last time I went through 2 years ago.  Then, I had to be pushed in a wheelchair in Atlanta and in Vegas.  I was so humiliated.  This year, I strutted baby!  Through the airport and all the while I was in Vegas.  Man, my friends walked my butt all over there.  hehehehe.  The beauty of it is that I was able to keep up.  Last time, I had to forego seeing the streets and sites.  Anyone who's been to Vegas knows that you must see the water show at the Venetian, watch the gondolas and the singing gondoliers, attend the luau at the Imperial Palace, stare in awe at the lights on Fremont, and so on.  There's much to see there and the walking is part of the trip.  So, I can finally say that I truly got to experience Vegas this time.

I'm currently down 85 lbs.  I now know that I can walk around and for long distances without feeling like I'm going to die.  I walked from the Bellagio to the Stratosphere hotel.  So, I've promised myself to a walking program at work.  Pray for me, that I don't procrastinate on getting my butt in gear.

Until next time OH family.

Peace and blessings

Carol
