Trace Curry
I am very happy to have found Dr. Curry. I have never had a doctor who makes themself so available to his patients. You email, call or post on his forum and you get an answer even on the weekends. Dr. C is very down to earth in the way he speaks to me - everything is explained in simple terms that anyone could understand. rnrnI feel like I have team support from everyone in his office, we all have the same goal in mind getting me healthy. rnrnI give Dr. C and his staff a big gold star because they are indeed super stars.rnrn

Friday Check In
on July 27, 2007 8:39 am

I DID IT!!!! Blinkie50lbs.gif picture by ajslovespcs actual 52 but I finally made it to the 50lbs gone mark.

This week was a very busy week for me.  I just feel like I don't have enough hours in the day any more.  And of course that makes me stressed and stress makes me eat - I gotta find another way to deal with emtions (food can not be that choice).

I seem to have restriction for breakfast, mild restriction at lunch but once I get home in the evening its like I don't even have a band.  I guess I will need to go back for yet another fill.

Friday Check In
on July 20, 2007 4:40 am
Another week with no weight loss .  But at least I'm not gaining so that is a good thing . I ate a little better I still need to work on my menu a little bit more for some better choices - I think it might be time to start tracking what I eat again too.  It will give me a better idea where I need to tweek things.

On an overall life note - I feel like I might me falling into a depression stage.  I take all my meds just as I am supose to.  But each day I feel a little more down.  I'm starting to feel like everyone at work doesn't like me any more.  Which of course makes me want to withdraw but I'm a temp and I want to get hired so I don't want to withdraw because that makes me seem like I'm not a team player.  I'm really trying to fake happiness but I'm just feeling kinda shitty over the course of this week.  I do go see the doctor next Friday for a head check maybe we need to tweek my meds.

I really hope next week is a better week.

What's the Deal??
on July 18, 2007 4:45 am
I posted this to Dr. C's message board for guidance.:

I had my fourth fill just last week (I've got 2.7cc in 4cc band) so now I feel like I can eat even more than I did when I was at 2.5cc. I don't feel like I have much restriction at all. I just don't get it - what's the deal? Does it take time for the effect to happen? Question What on earth is going on? Question

*************

Here's some great insight I got (it may not be truth but I love the theories):

From Karen: I'll take a guess and say that your weight loss is outpacing your fill schedule.  IOW the fat pad on your stomach is shrinking faster than the band is being filled to take up the extra space.  . . . *I* just think it's because you've done so well losing so far that your fills haven't caught up yet.

From Lori: You're wanting an exact science in a world that can't give you one! . . .My take on your issue is that, by adding the fluid, it changed the shape of the air pockets just enough that your level of restriction changed.  That, or maybe part of your stomach may have been pinched before and the change in fill level allowed that pinched part (which was giving you additional restriction) to get back to where it belonged.

Here's some of my insight:
{*}I'm learning that is not logical or predictable.
{*}Hang in there / be patient: That's why they call it the loser bench you need a place to wait for it to finally work its magic

I CAN WALK

I got the doctor's approvel this morning I'm allowed to walk again.   I get to trade in my wheelchair and walking boot for a small ankle brace.  I get to wear both my sneakers again!!!!

I get to drive myself again too - which could be dangerous because now I can take myself out for shopping.  I'll have to be careful.

I just can't stop grinning smiley big grin

Weekly Check In:
I lost 40lbs this week - My wheelchair - I didn't lose any weight myself but I lost that wheelchair so who cares about no loss.

To fill or not to fill . . .
on July 10, 2007 3:56 pm
That is the question

I go for another follow up visit to Dr. C's office tomorrow and I just don't know if I need another fill or not.  I'm losing and I seem to have restriction at least for breakfast and lunch but come dinner time I can eat more than a cup of food.  What does this mean??  How do you know when your where you need to be with fills?  I just don't know I will discuss everything with them tomorrow and see what they think.

Is this even possible - I lost another 2lbs this week and I was bad. smilies  Ate all kinds of things I shouldn't have and I ate out almost everyday.  I've been eating a lot of chips and chocolate smiley with candythis week I think TOM is right around the corner.  I really thought I would have gained weight this week and I expected it - so got a really nice surprise.

Foot update: I am able to put a little bit of weight on the foot and walk as long as I use my walker so I can't go far because it is exhausting but we are making progress.  I have noticed since I've started to walk on it a bit - mind you with light weight  - that the tendon feels tight and a bit sore - but I guess I would be sore too if I hadn't been used in 2 months.  I just can't believe its been two months well at least on the 10th it will be 2 months.  I see the doctor again on the 13th so we will see what news he has for me.

NSV: Went to Lane Bryant yesterday and asked the sales girl to help measure me to get my correct bra size - 42D - I was a 48D - so I feel really good right now plus they had a sale on some of the bras 2 for $20 so I bought some really cute bras - not the same old white cotton boring ones I've been wearing for years.  Such exciting news!!dance

Opps I did it again
on July 5, 2007 7:26 am
4th of July had another PB this time it was Arby's I was eating in the car mind you I wasn't driving - I was in the passage seat but it happened again.  I really need to be careful - but I really think it has to do with my posture.  I need to make sure I'm sitting straight up and I chew really well.

NSV: I was able to wear my class ring from high school - the bad part my wedding ring keeps falling of so I had to put my class ring in its place - time for another sizer on the wedding ring.
