Surgery date has been set for 11/05/08 here in Houston, TX with Dr. Robert Davis at University General Hospital here in the Medical Center. I go in for my labs next week and then I must start the dreaded pre-op liquid diet, but I know that I am going to do this and make my surgery go that much smoother if I can shrink my liver enough -- don't want an open RNY if I can avoid it. !!! YEAH !!! What a feeling.
Paperwork Has Been Submitted To The Insurance Company

Well it finally seems like not such a dream any longer. My paperwork was submitted to Aetna POS Choice II on Monday 9/29/2008 and we are awaiting a decision on pre-certification for my surgery. I am anxious and ready to get the ball rolling as our insurance will be changing at the end of the year and I definitely didn't go thru all of this for nothing. I will update the minute that I hear something. Per the Bariatric Coordinator's suggestions I am going to call the insurance company every day starting Monday (which will be a week) until they have a decision. Once they have a decision I can then get them to fax me the paperwork. If it is good we can schedule surgery, if not we will have to appeal. Please God let me get approved on the first go around.
