17 months post op
on January 6, 2013 3:26 pm

Been a while since I have posted an update, so here I am at 17 months post op writing an update for anyone who actually cares to read.  I have been maintaining my 115 lb weight loss since 9 months post op.  I bounce between 138 and 143 lbs.  I wear a size 5 pants and a medium shirt.  I eat everything and anything.  White four gives me gas.  I upped my carb intake to stop losing weight.  I am sure at some point that will come to an end and I will have to watch my carbs, but for now I eat more to maintain.  I am loving life and all this DS has allowed me to accomplish.  I have taken part in 2 5Ks so far.  I have found that I enjoy running.  Just every day tasks like picking things up off the floor, getting clothes out of the dryer, climbing stairs.. are so much easier.  I am so glad that I made the decision to have the DS.

Relay for Life
on June 10, 2011 8:32 am
So Tonight is my first ever walk with relay for life.  I am very excited.  My husband and I are both walking with team Hi Hope.  So I am going to count how many laps I can do per hour then how many hours I can walk straight.  Then next year will hopefully be my post op year and I can compair.  I know my back, legs, and feet will be hurting but I am going to push myself just to see what I am capable of.  Then maybe next yr it will be better.  Wish me luck!!

Soda
on May 4, 2011 5:10 am
No soda Day #4..  AND I have a headache.. YUCK.  Figured I would quit now before surgery and maybe help with the pre weight loss.  Hope my husband stays on board and doesn't bring soda home.  He is not quitting soda. He says he "needs" the caffine.  So he can have it at work but it totally can not be in the house..that would suck wicked bad and my whole not drinking soda deal would go out the window.

My Story

So my story  I have been overweight since I was 8.  I have always been a yo yo dieter.  I can go up and down 20+ pounds in a month.  I usually have no problem losing weight but then I stall, lose control and gain it all back plus.  I have been researching the surgery for approx 5 years.  This new years I decided that instead of making the same resolution to lose weight and getting the same result, that if I wanted a different result I had to do something I had never done before and that is when I called the baratric center.  I will be done with my 6 month pre op requirment in June.  So I am hoping to have surgery by July :)

I am more then my weight though.. I am a 28 year old  wife and mother.  My husband and I have been married 5 yrs in June.    I have two children ages Kiersten- 2 and Kaleb- 4.   I have two dogs Adrian - 2 and Duke- 4 months.   Family is my life..  I love music and art.  I was an art major in HS.   I love tattoos and piercings.  I have an upper back tattoo, a foot/ankle,  and an ankle/ calf tattoo.  I have my lip and my tongue pierced currently.   I am a pagan atheist.  I am going to school currently for nursing.  I am a busy lady  :)
