Tananchai Lucktong, M.D.
My husband and I really liked Dr. Lucktong, he explained everything including all the risks of being obese and all the risks of the surgery. We met in a group setting but there was only one other person. After that we met with him one on one. I really think I made a really good choice. I really enjoyed my consultation but hubby was tired...lol. It was long but well worth it too. I liked Dr. Lucktongs staff as well. Everyone was very nice and they took really good care of us. Dr. Lucktong is going to have me do a sleep study, I was borderline but I am really impressed that he is going to do this. I was actually hoping he would. I am very impressed and really feel like I made an excellant choice.

Woooot!!! Got A Date

Well the only advice I can give is be the squeaky wheel or you may be waiting for forever.  Today Missy got back from her vacation so I called her this morning and she still had not received anything so I called the sleep doc's office and they called me back right away and then called me back as soon as they faxed a letter over.    She said she didn't want me to worry so called to let me know.   How wonderful is that.   I think what happened is each office was waiting for the other to contact them.  Soooooo get on the phone and make some calls.   Woooot yay me....I weighed myself on the scales here at work and weigh Just under 251.   250 on the scales at home.

The day after Christmas

Well it is the day after Christmas and I called Dr. Lucktong's office to see if Missy was able to schedule me.   Sigh she is off until Friday.   So I will try her then.   I got a bueatiful ring for Christmas.   My hubby did really well in picking it out.   I also got down to 250 on Christmas but am back up to 253.5 the day after.   Most likely water weight.   At least thats my story...lol.   

Oh I forgot to say that I am going to get a pair of sugar gliders....I can't wait.

Okay, looks like I will be getting a date very soon.   I called Missy this morning and she said she was going to call the sleep docs office and get a confirmation that it is a go.    She said she would call as soon as she hangs up.  I'm thinking next week after Christmas.   You know what?   I am okay with that...even if it is in Feb.   At least it is going to happen and it will just give me more time to get fit.  I feel so selfish having thrown a fit because I still don't have a date...sigh.    I know and feel for those that are still just waiting to get approved.   God bless you Robin....thinking of you as I write this.   You are in my thoughts and prayers often.

Will I ever just get a date....sigh

Remember I thought I was done and going to get my date? Well as it turned out the surgeon's office wouldn't give me a date until I had seen the sleep apnea doc. I have mild sleep apnea and may need to be on oxygen post op for a little while. He cleared me though and told me that he would be happy to clear me if the surgeons office called or faxed a form. He said that's generally what happens. So I get back to the office and call the surgeon's office to tell them the great news and she just says "okay and I'm like well can I get a date now and she says well I have to pull your chart but I'm thinking that Dr. Lucktong is booked for January" Uuuughhhh .....sigh so looks like I'll be moving to Feb. Of course I don't know that for sure since she hasn't called me yet. She said she would call me back this week. I'm feeling pretty discouraged as it seems like I keep running into road blocks. I am also worried that they are going to stall so long I will have to repeat my tests....sigh. Anyway I need someone to take over the list...sorry my heart just isn't into it anymore. Especially if I am going to be moving to Feb. I know I will get there but I got my approval the day after my consult but I keep running into road blocks. I will of course add those people that have emailed me but as of today....stick a fork in me I'm done. I will let you all know of course what my date is when I finally get it. Going to call her tomorrow afternoon, but I am expecting her to be off for some reason. Oh well going to just enjoy Christmas and continue to try to lose weight.

Frustrated

I know it will happen but I seem to keep having little set backs. Called my surgeons office on Friday and she said that she had my echo and sleep study results and everything looked good to go. She said she would pull my chart out and see if I needed to do anything else. Well then Monday I didn't here from her and decided to wait till Wednesday and then decided to call then. When I called her she said that she had been able to look at my chart (and didn't call me to let me know...grrr). She said that the psyc eval had not come back....sheesh that was last month when I had it done. She also said in reading the not it looked like the I only have mild sleep apnea so do not need a cpap but the doctor wanted to see me anyway. How did she miss that on Friday...sigh. So I got on the phone and called the 2 places and neither will call me back and all I can do is leave messages. I had already figured I wouldn't have surgery until Early January but may be later then that now. Seems like I just keep getting the runaround. I have always had to call Missy she never has called me with any results even though she has said she will. Oh well it will happen just a matter of when and I still do not have a date. Very frustrating. How the heck am I supposted to schedule time off. Okay just needed to vent.
