Aug. 1st!
on August 1, 2007 11:29 am
Well I am down 86 lbs. today - pretty amazing! My husband can't keep his hands off of me... so he made a little trip to the urologist for a vasectomy in June... no more babies!!!
I'm thankful for those in my life that have been supportive of me and the decision to have the surgery.
Recently my daughter had to have her tonsils out (she's 3) and both my mother and mother-in-law (MIL) where there in the waiting room. My husband and I got up to grab something to drink and my mother and MIL stayed behind in the waiting room. Now if you have read my previous posts, you know that the MIL isn't supportive at all and is still struggling with her own obesity issues. Well, my Mom is aware of how my MIL feels, and she said that when my husband and I got up to walk out of the room my MIL just stared at me - watching, like she was studying me. I'm sure that everytime I see her I look thinner or different. I'm still a little bitter that she wasn't more supportive considering her own weight problem - I'm sure in time we'll both get over it.

Down 60!
on June 1, 2007 12:26 pm
I have been having little "Wow" moments here and there... I have noticed that men aren't afraid to look at me.. in fact... I was at the movie rental store today and I walked around the corner and this guy said "Hello" (and no, he didn't work there...) without me even glancing at him. Once I noticed he was talking to me I said an akward "Hi" back...  I'm down 3 sizes now which is also nice... I can't imagine where I will be by the end of summer... I am back to my old self as far as energy goes but work has been so busy that I haven't had time to break away to the gym... that is the next goal I would like to implement!

Down 50!
on May 3, 2007 10:22 am
As of this week and I am down 50 lbs and down 2 sizes! Woo Hoo!
My husband just loves the way I look, he can hold me closer now! I had to shop for some clothes too! I am able to eat more of a variety of things but I am experiencing some weakness in my every day tasks. Just getting the kids ready in the morning will leave me winded and tired. I've never experienced this before, so I am assuming that my body is still trying to get used to the changes. Just to be on the safe side, I did notify my Dr. and they ran some blood tests... just waiting to hear the results...

1 Month Down!
on April 19, 2007 1:28 pm
Well - it is one month out and I am down 40 lbs according to my scale. It's pretty amazing! I did hit a plateau last week but I did not stress about it - as I know it will happen...

I'm Shedding!
on March 29, 2007 6:46 am
I am down 30 lbs and my clothes are very loose! I have only gotten sick once and that was totally my fault. I am getting tired of cream soup so I tried cheese yesterday and it went down well - It also kept me full for most of the day which was nice.

My Story

I've been fat most of my life. I was raised in an over-weight family so the concept of diet was never pushed on me. Now my family members are paying with their health and I have made the decision not to go down that road. My father died in his 40's leaving me (17 at the time) and my two younger 1/2 brothers (3 & 1 at the time) behind. My mother has many health issues related to her weight.

Because of all these factors - I have decided on the RNY WLS. I have two young children (3 & 1) and a loving husband. I want to be around to see my children grow up. I want to feel like a sexy wife again. I want to be healthy and feel happy again. I feel like I have been existing (not living) for the last 5 years and the weight has been keeping me dormant. I am very excited that my surgery is coming up. I am a little scared to have surgery but I've had gallbladder surgery and 2 C-sections so I am sure I will be fine. The surgery is going to be March 15th...
