Thursday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

5 Months out!!!
on January 3, 2008 5:34 am
The day after Christmas I am 5 months out from wls.  I am amazed at how wonderful I feel and how much weight I have lost in such a short amount of time.  I am now down 82.4 pounds and still heading down.  I haven't yet reached a "plateau" but when I do see the same weight or a little gain for two days straight then I know I need to get back to keeping track of everything that I eat and drink.  It usually means that I am not getting all of my liquids in and need to jump right on it.

I have met some many wonderful people from this board and it is great to have many new friends.  I feel blessed to be in this place in my life.  Getting my life back and experiencing things I have never done before.  I look forward to adding more entries to my list of new and fun happenings!!!

Take care and I'll check back in a month.  I still need to add my 5 months pics, a little late taking them this time, but should get them on soon!

4 Months out today
on November 27, 2007 4:21 am
Four months out today and I am down 74.6 pounds.  This has been an amazing journey so far and I look forward to heading right on down this road!  I am feeling great and able to do so many more things & many things more easily now.
We went home to Ohio for Thanksgiving to see my family.  I hadn't seen my sister since July 5th and it was fun to see her reaction to me.  My neices as well, they are 8, and they were just shocked at first but after that I was just plain ole Aunt Mimi again and we had a blast. I took my girls on the 4-wheeler and had so much fun, went shopping with my mom and sister and had energy to keep right on going.
Thanksgiving was good.  Not hard at all.  I even came back to MN after being with my parents for a week and lost 1.2 pounds.  That was a wonderful surprise.
I would love to be down to 199 by Christmas if I could but if not I am okay with that.  I have lost almost 75 pounds so far and I haven't been able to do that in forever.
Taking one day at a time and following my program is what I am doing right now.  I do much better when I write everything down....food, water, milk, my protein grams...when I stray from doing that my weight loss slows down so I make an effort to do that each and every day and that is what works for me!
Until next month.....Amy

3 months out today
on October 26, 2007 5:49 am

I can't believe it has been 3 months today since I have had my surgery.  The time has gone by so quickly and sometimes it feels like I have been eating & living my life this way forever, so I think that is a good thing.  I am down 63.4 pounds. I have lost 10 pounds this past month and I am very happy with that.  It is so nice to just see the numbers on the scale keep going down after three months instead of start creeping back up.  I am feeling great.  I also put on a pair of size 18 jeans today what a great feeling that is.  I have gone from a 24/26 to about an 18/20 and to be in an 18....WOW. I think it was back is 1998 I had a 18 on.  I still struggle a bit with wanting to eat,  I just try to make sure I get my daily protein and liquids in. Some days I get there and pass my requirements and some days I don't quite get there.  Overall I am so happy with myself and how far I have come in such a short amount of time.  I have also posted my 3 month photos on my profile as well.
Life is good!!!! Until next time. Amy

2 months out today!!!
on September 26, 2007 12:53 pm

It has be 2 months today since I had my surgery. The time has gone very quickly and as of today I have lost a total of 53.4 pounds.  That is so amazing to me to lose this much weight in such a short amount of time.

I am feeling much better and have more energy.  I am not so tired all the time.  I can run up the stairs without being winded. The pain in my hip is less.  It still hurts some but like Carol (nurse) says it is because I am walking more, taking longer strides and just using muscles that have not been used in a long time!

Life is good!!!!!

I have an appointment with the dietician on October 4 and that will be my official weigh in for surgery, so hopefully a few more pounds will be gone forever once I get there.

I guess the only thing I really need to work harder at is getting the exercise in daily.  It seems to get pushed to the bottom of my list for the day and I need to put it right at number one so I get it done right at the get-go!!!  Otherwise things are going good and I still know this is the best thing I have ever done for myself!

One Month out!!!
on August 28, 2007 6:44 am
I met with Carol on 8/21 for my one month (just shy of one month) and everything was going great.  I was down 20.1 pounds from surgery day and down 36 pounds from my highest weight.  I can't believe how the weight is coming off.  Still trying to remember to eat and get my liquids in.  It is amazing how food is not such a big deal anymore.  I am so thankful for that.  I am starting to feel more energy.  My hip pain is just about gone which is so nice. I can walk up the stairs and not be in pain. I can carry Rachel so much easier and even able to lift up my 4 year old, Lydia.

Life is good!  I am thankful everyday for the opportunity I was given to have this surgery and start a new healthy life and be able to show my girls how to live a healthy life without food being such an issue!
